1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Description:

This Wagon (Station Wagon, Estate) has very presentable and shiny ORIGINAL white paint and no accidents, as verified with a paint thickness gauge and rigorous inspection. No sign of any paint job on factory stickers, door jams etc and even the rear bumper wears a Mercedes factory sticker not showing a re-spray. 1995 W124 wagons are rare enough, original paint with no accidents makes this one truly unique.

According to some a 1995 E320 Wagon is “the best car ever built”. The last and the best year of the legendary W124 Mercedes “million mile” model combined with flexibility and utility of a wagon. Built quality and reliability unmatched before and after. Quality everywhere - spring loaded hood/hatch not flimsy air shocks. Washable headliner with reinforcements over cargo area, no flimsy/fussy cloth which soils and rips in newer wagons – the list goeson and on. 1995 is the year by which Mercedes has cleaned up esthetics and sorted out all the reliability, electrical and mechanical issues (except for wiring harness, already addressed on this car), and before Mercedes went into the cost and quality cutting (1996+ V6 SOHC 3 valves/cylinder E320 engines reportedly were 50% cheaper to built than the smooth L6 DOHC 4 valves/cylinder 1995).

1995 W124 is simple, easy to maintain and repair, with good safety, handling, 217HP engine driveability and fuel economy. I have personally owned a 1995 sedan for several years and can attest to the quality and solidity of those cars. The doors, hood feel very solid and close like a vault – by comparison a recent model S600 V12 has a hood which closes with a cheap tin sound, even $170,000 does not buy you the 1995 Mercedes quality any more.

If you have read so far probably you don’t need a listing of all the model year details which are widely available. So to the point:

  • Original paint and no accidents, remarkably straight and clean body and clean interior, good wood, no any cracks in dash as the car has been garaged. (There are only 3 reasons for a body re-paint: accident damage, rust damage, weather damage from neglect and improper storage – none apply to this car)

-Desirable MB Tex interior (lasts practically forever, unlikely leather or cloth which wear off)

-Versatility of a 7 passenger wagon, with a flexibility of foldable 2nd row seats, 3rd row seats, cargo net, cargo cover etc.

-Roof rack with roof stripes allowing for various load configurations

-Low mileage for this model (170k miles)

    -Cold A/C, hot heat

-New battery 4 months ago, recent 2 new tires, rear muffler, serpentine belt etc

-Manuals/books including the original factory built sheet!

    -2 sets of keys

-Windows, door and rear hatch locks, radio, power antenna, all lights and gauges, wipers (brand new), power mirrors, cup holder etc all work. Lights wired so they turn on/off with engine on/off, this way you never forget to turn them on during rain (required by law in Florida) or turn them off when leaving the car

  • -Radio display panel and temperature display stopped working in Florida heat, all functions of the power seats work except for power head rests and raising/lowering rear side of passenger cushion. Sunroof works up and down but does no open in front

-This is a 22 year old classic car with original paint so there are some stone chips, door edge scratches and other minor body imperfections. Some cracks on rear lights covers. All not really noticeable to a casual bystander or in the photos, but you can see if paying attention

-It’s not a new car (a new E class wagon starts at $62,300 and goes to about $130,000 for optioned out with AMG). It is in good but not excellent, not a perfect condition (a perfect W124 would be over $20k now)

Good luck bidding! 1995 W124 wagons with original paint don’t come around often, so if you are in the market for one, don’t let it get away!

An elegant, classic design you can enjoy for years and if you ever have to sell it, chances are the prices will only go up.
