1995 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Wagon Description:

1995 Mercedes wagon, brilliant emerald/parchment, 17" AMG Aero II staggered monoblock wheels.

Clearcoat peeling in several areas including roof. Bonnet repainted in 2014 as peeling in this area was unsightly.

Bad:

Motor has been burning 1 quart of oil every 500-700 miles since head rebuild 20000 miles ago (4/16)

Right rear suspension squeak

Hatch has a tendency to drop when open.

Small power steering leak without any noticeable fluid loss from pump.

Good:

Runs and drives smoothly.

All records since purchase 9/2014 at 112000 miles. Currently just under 156000 miles.

All scheduled maintenance up to date with current smog and registration complete 1/18 (history report as furnished does notreflectthis; a new catalytic converter has been installed and the car has passed CA emissions in time for registration renewal)

New coil packs

Rebuilt transmission 6/17 with 2 year warranty

Throttle actuator replaced 5/17

Upper engine wiring harness replaced, new water pump, new motor & transmission mounts, new hoses, new vacuum lines, new flex disc, new rear air cells at time of head rebuild + gasket job 4/16

New lower control arms and ball joints 2015

ECU replaced 2015

Starter harness replaced 2015

Radiator replaced 2015

All MB factory or OEM equivalent parts. No cheap aftermarket suppliers.

Compression 180-210psi on all cylinders with leakdown test 2-8%. as of 2/17.

Car has had a lot renewed on it but obviously has a significant problem with the engine despite head rebuild/gasket job that in my opinion should have been detected or at least the possibility suggested prior to starting that job.

You will be checking and putting in oil often and if you don't want to deal with that, you will have to replace the engine. There is no head gasket leak, but again, it burns oil and loses approximately one quart per 500-700 miles depending on city vs. highway conditions.

In-person viewing and test can be arranged. Also willing to take the car to the mechanic of your choice (although I don't recommend dealing with the one that did the head rebuild) within a 10 mile radius of 91791 for an inspection (at your cost) if you wish.
