'70 Ghia Convertible
1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Description:
Our second kid is now here and in the process of purchasing a bay window bus. Need to loosen up some funds.1600cc motor with just over 28,800 miles on the odometer purchased in San Diego back in 2009. Based on old work receipts I know the odometer has rolled over at least once and that this car spent the 20 years before me in New Mexico and Texas. Drove cross country back to Massachusetts without too much incident save a blown out tire and a bear attack.
Spent 2 winters out on Martha's Vineyard where the car got a little salty, not too bad. Mechanics are still impressed by the undercarriage during inspections. Moved back to the mainland and now have it in a garage.

Period, if not vehicle correct Becker Europa radio to listen to ball games via the center dash speaker, aux input to speakers below the bamboo parcel tray for your own tunes.
Hurst shifter.
Luggage rack over the engine compartment.
Spare tire, truer rim than the once currently installed at the right rear, but not as clean.
Lights/indicators work with exception to the parking lights which are disconnected and one of two license plate illuminators.
Seats are not original and could use some work, backrest of driver side does not hold position, seat seat tracks are still intact.
Gas meter works, clock works. Speedo warning lights (oil, highbeam) work.

Runs well, would run better if it just had time to stretch it's legs. Engine is pretty complete with oil bath air filter and fan shroud with working thermostat.
Heaterboxes bring in warm air when they are connected. I replaced the old exhaust with pea-shooters and forgot to install the clamps.
Marks it's territory. Mostly from the external oil filter. (Original doghouse is still there).

Obviously, this car is almost 50 years old. Buyer it to expect to see the kinds of wear and tear typical for a car this old that is driven. This is not a show car (at least not yet).
