1976 Triumph TR6 Roadster
Born in jolly old England and now gracing the North Mallway of our Hallowed Halls, we offer for consignment, a Triumph TR6 right out of the 1976 model year. A boxy design, factory hardtop, tall tires, long bonnet, short square boot, rectangular rear lighting, vinyl seats, a veneer wood dash, Lucas electrics, Stromberg carburetors and a zippy 6-cylinder engine, all go into making the TR6 a true British Sportscar. Previously restored and then purchased by our consignor who has treated it with kid gloves and used sparingly, so you can ensure many years and many miles of carefree driving.

Exterior
Very straight mostly rust-free steel panels with good gaps adorn this car with only minor inclusions in the paint. Bathed in Pimento Red and looking just spit spot with thin chrome bumpers with the less than attractive overrides removed but included with your purchase, are adorning the front and rear of this car. We also note a correct chin spoiler is seen in the front and hovering in the TR6 badged grille and added driving lights. Badging is correct, and the rear of the car has been finished in red inplace of the oft seen matte black tail panel sporting chrome trimmed wrap around tail/turn/reverse lights seen at the outboard corners. The convertible top in black canvas presents with no tearing and a clear but wrinkled plastic rear window. Our consignor notes that the top has shrunk and will not fully attach to the body. Also included is the rarely seen optional hardtop, making this an all weather sports car. 15-inch chrome wire wheels on all 4 corners that have been trued and balanced are and are shod in deep treaded BF Goodrich Silvertown red stripe rubber for that period perfect look. 
Interior
A wood dash with nearly new appearing veneer stretches across the inside of the car and is surrounded by padded black vinyl. Essential instrumentation is seen in front of the original steering wheel, and are of course Smiths brand, which was a staple of 1970's Triumphs. A wood rimmed 3 spoke drilled steering wheel fronts the dash and keeps the English vibe alive. Black vinyl buckets with smooth bolsters and tuck and roll inserts have just a touch of wrinkling float in a sea of clean black carpeting with black rubber mats for extra protection and an adequately sized storage area is behind these seats, although this space has been slightly reduced due to the addition of a single hoop rollbar. Like new black vinyl door panels cover the doors and are looking just fine with their chrome handles and obligatory map pockets. Between the front buckets is the parking brake lever and just ahead of the decidedly British wood knob topped shifter is an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette stereo.
Drivetrain
Flipping open the bonnet we are met with inline OHV 6-cylinder displacing 152ci, 2.5 Liters for those using the Metric system, and is fed by dual Stromberg single barrel downdraft carburetors topped with chrome air cleaners. Our consignor notes that the valves have recently been adjusted, a new valve cover gasket has been installed, as well as a new thermostat, radiator, hoses and belts were put on to ensure reliability. On the back of the mill is a 4-speed manual transmission with a newer clutch and putting the power to the ground is a rear axle weighing in with a 3.80 ratio. 
Undercarriage
The frame and underbody are very clean with some surface rust present. A strong black painted frame proves the support for the black rust-free flooring. A header feeds down to the dual exhaust piped dual muffler exhaust system. Recently serviced front disc and rear drum brakes provide the stopping power. Front suspension is independent with coil springs, unequal-length A-arms, telescopic shock absorbers, and the rear consists of independent coil springs, semi-trailing arms, lever-arm shock absorbers. All well restored and looking spit spot!
Drive-Ability
A test drive in this Triumph was a blast from the past as this writer owned this very same car. This TR6 runs smoothly, although had to be choked just a bit for smooth idle until the engine warmed up. The transmission shifted up and down without a hitch and the braking was adequate. Always a snappy handling car, it brought back good memories, especially with all options fully functional save for the radio not broadcasting and the EGR light being on as the EGR valve has been removed. Some wind in your hair, and the throaty exhaust sound goes a long way to calm the soul.
