Up for auction is a beautiful 1971 VW Super Beetle convertible. This car runs as fantastic as it looks.It was restored by one of the previous owners. Metal work was done and the floor pans were replaced. It was repainted in its original Iberian Red which was color sanded and buffed to beautiful shine. All weather seals were replaced.The interior was redone with correct factory seat upholstery, and the carpets were replaced. The dash has no splits or cracks.The convertible top was replaced and has no splits or cracks.The drive train was completely gone through at the time of restoration. The 1600cc engine was rebuilt, and it runs great with no smoke, or leaks.After I purchased the car I did a few minor upgrades for improved reliability and performance. I replaced the aftermarket carburetor with a correct remanufactured Solex. A small electric fuel pump was installed to eliminate potential vapor locking. A Pertronix electronic conversion kit was installed for better ignition.This car is a blast to drive and I have taken it all over the state from mountain driving to the plains. It doesn't miss a beat. It's had a recent tune-up and is ready for a new home. I drive this car frequently, so the mileage may go up a bit.
