Unique collector car for sale. Probably only about 2 dozen in the US. The Toyota Sera is noted for its butterfly doors. Only produced in Japan for their domestic market from 1990 to 1995 and only about 18000 were ever made. When it was introduced in Japan prospective buyers had to enter a lottery to qualify to purchase one. It is a small 4 seat vehicle with right hand drive. This is a completely original example with less than 50000 original miles. It is a high option model. The most desirable option is the 5 speed manual transmission. I have owned 2 of these and the manual trans is far superior to the automatic. It makes it a lot more responsive and fun to drive. Only about 25% had manual transmissions. It has antilock brakes and its the only one I've seen with this option. Antilock brakes also comes with rear disc brakes instead of drums. Also it has the upper smoked acrylic spoiler/shade (has small crack) and the optional dash cup tray, and I have only seen pictures of a couple of Seras with these options. It has the OEM factory alloy wheels, dealer floor mats and the special order Funky Mode stereo for that year. (Be advised the stereo works but in Japan they have different frequencies so it doesn't receive all our stations.) It also has the removable interior sun shades. It still has its Japanese road flare by the passenger foot well and I have the original owner's manual, all tools, and a dealer brochure. It's dependable like you would expect from a Toyota. I drove it on an 800 mile weekend trip a little over a year ago with no issues. I would have no hesitation to drive this anywhere in the US. Starts right up and has no fluid leaks. Yes AC works and even the clock works! Absolutely no rust. Very fun car that gets lots of attention. Original paint in wonderful condition, referred to as "grellow" (green and yellow), and interior is also in great condition. No disappointments with this one. Buy it, fly into Kansas City, I'll pick you up and have a fun road trip home. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. My reserve is less than I paid 4 years ago for this car. Only reason I'm selling is because I am down sizing. This is probably the finest original example of this model in the US.
