Has original build sheet. This was a one family owned car. They spent $38,000 on a frame off restoration.
EXTERIOR: I just love how this car looks and I've never seen another one like it. First of all the front end on a 77 is awesome. This one is a factory red car, the factory white half top pops and the stripe really puts it over the top. I have never seen that stripe, it was factory ordered on this car. The modern version of the rally ll wheels are these 17 inch billet American Racing wheels. Has performance Kumho tires. The Formula includes louvered hood, sport mirrors and rear spoiler. Phenomenal paint job, looks like a liquid red body. It is arrow straight, there's not a bubble or a crack that I found anywhere. Every square inch of paint is polished like a mirror, even the rubber bumpers. The vinyl top is a new crisp white. New exact reproduction stripe. New windshield, the trim around the front and back windows is new. Window seals and weather strips have been replaced. Door jambs are painted beautifully.
INTERIOR: Brand new crisp white upholstery. New cushions in the seats so the upholstery fits like a glove. Door panels- upper and lowers, the headliner, visors, all the plastic trim in the car is crisp bright white. The rear speaker tray is new, has two 6x9 speakers. Carpet is new, also has embroidered mats. The dash area and console are good original. Has it's factory Am-FM radio in the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original 5.0 305 V-8 motor is all detailed out. Has complete air cleaner with proper ductwork. Factory air conditioning system was serviced and updated to R134 freon. All the metal surfaces are painted a nice satin black. Fender jamb is gloss red. Has a cadmium plated brake booster, new master and lines. Every part looks proper just like it left the factory.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All clean metal. Still has the factory trunk spatter paint under the original trunk mat. Bottom of the lid and the jamb are painted smooth gloss red. New weatherstrip and jacking instructions decal.
UNDERSIDE: Looks close to new, actually a lot of it is! Frame was removed, new bushings. Front end was completely rebuilt- ball joints, bushings, springs, shocks. Brand new exhaust with transverse muffler and splitter tips. You can eat off the bottom of the motor, new fuel pump, new starter, new flywheel cover. The rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic looks brand new and is vin # matched to the car. Rear suspension was rebuilt- new bushings and shocks. New fuel system- tank, straps, sending unit, fuel lines. The brake system was completely restored, disc in front, has e-brake assembly. The floors, frame rails, rockers are completely clean metal painted black.
I look at thousands of cars and I really like this one. It's refreshingly different. I was pleasantly surprised to see the car was sold new with these great colors. The owner spent a fortune restoring the car for sentimental reasons. Unfortunately he passed away. Someone is going to get a great value. Ready for show!
