Its Cameo white paint is in top form and the pair of contrasting Tyrol blueracing stripes running the length of this classic muscle car look as sharp asthe day they were first applied. Open one of the doors and you'll see even thedoor jambs still have a finished, uniform texture to them. It was only twoyears earlier that the Firebird was first released, and if you step to thefront of the car, you'll see this '69 still carries the twin dual headlightconfiguration, distinctive split grille and slightly pointed nose that set itapart from its rivals. We get to see our share of well- preserved classicshere, but we still can't help but be impressed with just how well-finished thisPontiac is - the chrome trim and badging throughout looks sharp, the glass onall four sides is nice and clear, and all the body panels sit flush.
The pair of front buckets are good looking that don't show wear, leaving nowrinkles, and you won't even find traces of discoloration from resting elbowson the door panels to each side. Hop into the driver's seat and take a lookabove, and you'll see a nice tight matching black headliner. Just beyond thePMD steering wheel, the dash area also looks impressive, with a set ofstill-functional gauges in the instrument cluster and a fresh-looking dash padjust above that carries no splits. An aftermarket retro looking radio alongwith kick panel speakers provide quality sound while cruising.
The high output freshly rebuilt 400cubic inch V8 in the engine is the same one this Firebird started out with. Adefining feature of first-generation Trans Ams, it's carrying a full 335horsepower and is paired up with a Muncie 4 Speed transmission. Even amongwell-preserved classics, the engine compartment stands out - the silver paint onthe engine matches nicely with its chrome valve covers . Curious as to whetherthe undercarriage matches the same high standards found elsewhere? This TransAm is well suited for the road as well, with its power steering combining withpower brakes to provide easy navigation and dependable stops as cruises on itsset of 14" Kumo tires. This Trans Am tribute does not have hvac and sunvisors are absent.
