Mercedes 300SD Turbodiesel 1980

1980 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Description:

This is a 1980 300SD purchased new by my father, who passed it onto me. It's always been a second car, so has been driven little when therewas salt on the roads. Has the optional sunroof. Just 144K miles on it,starts right up and runs great,like it was new, smooth, no shaking.It hasn't been on the road for thepast two years. It had accident damageabout ten years ago to theright front quarter panel. There is some rust ina few spots, near thedoors, down low. Paint is overall in good shape,except for the trunklid, where it's peeling on the lower part as shown in thepictures.It's ready for a new set of tires too.
It has the usual vacuum system leaks that develop at this age, so theengine shutoff and automatic door locks are not working and I don'thave the time to track them down. The AC is notworking, likely it needsa new HVAC servo.The system was converted to R410 refrigeranta couple decadesago. Cruise control also doesnot work. It has somerain leaks fromseals.Interior is in good condition,except the back seathas a tear inthe leather asshown in the picture.
