1966 Cabriolet. here we have 2 cars, both examples of the 1966 Fiat cabriolet 1500 5 speed.The red car; this car we bought out of Queens NY about 4 years ago and put into storage with hopes of getting to it before to long. Our plans have changed and we are onto other projects. This car we believe although cannot confirm was a victim of Sandy. The car is rough but can be saved. Some one at some point put a 1200 motor into this car, it is seized. We tried to free it but no luck. I do have a good 1500 motor to go with this car if desired. The car comes with parts shown in the pictures and other that are not. The Rusty Bucket car is also part of the deal. the story behind this car is the owner blew out the freeze plug and parked it in his back yard..........for 35 years unprotected. I by chance came across this car and scooped it up for a few bucks. If nothing more it was a good reference to how the cars were built. this was an aid while we restored 2 other cabrio's we have in inventory. This car for the fun of it, I figured why not try to fire it up. I popped in a battery and it cranked over, so i changed the oil, dropped in a coil and distributor, small retro gas tank with electric pump and don't cha know this thing not only runs but it runs damn good. I plugged the freeze plug, filled the system with water and drove it a couple miles on back roads, went through all five gears up and down, no issues. No brakes either but experienced drivers can handle that lol. Nothing really works, oh the headlight does. But again its a great reference car, has lots of little trinket parts and runs. Good combo here for an experienced mechanic. Both cars are the american model, not much different from the euro's. both cars are fully metric except for the brake systems were integrated with English components so those can be tricky. this was all cars not just these.This car also has allot of parts in the trunk and others not in the pictures.Both cars roll so they can be pulled onto a carrier.

So the package deal here is 2 1966 cabriolet’s, a motor, a pile of hard to find parts and yes that hard top is also part of the deal. You’re not finding those just laying around. It does need some work but totally worth it as all the trim pieces are near perfect as is the glass.
