1973 Buick Other Description:

1973 Buick Centurion Convertible 455ci, 150.2k miles
We have owned this car for over 30 years, always garaged by me and with no rust. This car has always been in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mostly all original. I have the original parade boots. Full condition listed below.
During the past 5 or so years, I have replaced the following: Top, with glass backlight (have plastic window curtain too) – color black, original color was white. Carburetor, electronic distributor, master cylinder, power brake booster, water pump, radiator, fuel pump, camshaft (pre-73 profile), timing chain and cover, valve cover gaskets, dual exhaust with mufflers and resonators, gas tank, rear shocks, rubber brake lines, top relay, window weather stripping. Period correct looking radio/MP3 player. Prior to my ownership, I think the rear differential was replaced (no clue as to why, but there are markings on the case).
Original engine parts have been saved (cruise control vacuum actuator, smog/air pump, carburetor, distributor, camshaft). I have an original GM am/fm radio, just in case.
Most mechanical systems are very good – engine, transmission, heater/defroster, wipers, windows, top, interior and exterior lights, power seats, seat back and truck releases. The following don’t work – A/C (it has never worked for me), Cruise Control, Speed Warning, Clock and a few of the speedometer light bulbs are burned out (the rest of dash lights have been replaced).
There are a few extra parts (please see picture link), including the easy-to-break courtesy light lenses in doors and in the back, white piping for bumpers, some seals, links, filters, spark plug wiring for original type distributor, brake pads and shoes, new convertible drive cables. And several manuals.
Please note the following –

1) These have never bothered me but are very important for you to know: the rear fender area on driver’s side is speckled with white paint (ran over a spray can years ago, the speckles don’t want to come off, at least with my fingernail); the front and rear side windows don’t meet each other very well when all are raised, they need some fiddling; it is a pain to get the parade boots to fit on smoothly, I have only used them twice; there are some very small door dings and a about a four finger sized dent rear fender passenger side (please see pictures) and a white paint mark on front fender.

2) This will need to be addressed: new tires - the tires are20 years old and while still looking fine (always garaged), but these should be replaced

3) GM Scissor tops are a smart design (low stack height, no hydraulics) but one needs to be very careful lowering the top, these can break the back glass if opened with something blocking or binding during the lowering. It has never happened to ‘me’, but I lent the car out years ago and bingo.

4) This car is 50 years old, and not a new Toyota. Please expect to care for it and address whatever will stop working or break next.
