1983 Volvo 240 Description:
Up for sale is one of our personal cars from our own private collection. We have owned this car on and off for the better part of 14 years. It is a 1983 Volvo 242 DL. 2-door coupe. B23F non-turbo engine, M46 manual transmission. Overdrive works well. Rare car- said to be one of 8 or so built with a "prototype" Webasto sunroof. The sunroof shares the same parts as a BMW. Mileage exempt. Shows 219K. Brand new BF Goodrich tires less than 100 miles ago. In the past 500 miles it has been repainted in the original Scotia Blue, new Sachs clutch, trans oil changed with Redline MTL, new Viton rear main seal, oil pan gasket, oil pump tube resealed, and rear wheel bearing replaced. For the past 15 years, the oil has always been changed with Mobil 1 synthetic and Mann filters. Could benefit from some new shocks/struts as they are getting tired. It does have some IPD rear overload springs installed. The ball joints/tie rods/bushings were all replaced about 13 years ago, and it had little use since. It does not have factory installed air conditioning. Never did. I have records of most everything that I have done to this car since 2004. I have a few boxes of spare parts that are included with the sale of the car with some things that I have saved or acquired for this car over the years.This car deserves a good home. The reason that we are selling it is because it is rarely driven and my indoor space has recently become very limited, so it has recently been relegated to outdoor storage, which is a shame.
