1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Baja Description:

DetailsThis 1974 Volkswagen Beetle is powered by a 1.6L flat-four motor that sends power through a four-speed manual transaxle to the rear wheels. The body has been resprayed with a beige-colored bed-liner coating which complements the black interior bed-liner coating. The black seats are composite, and seat covers are provided. The Beetle features drum brakes and a rear-mounted engine. This highly modified Baja style VW was given a partial fiberglass body, off-road exhaust, custom bumpers, coil over shocks, LED headlights, and 15 steel wheels. The exterior was outfitted with a Haul Master roof rack, awning, light bar, and four spotlights. The odometer reports 47,365 miles; however, the total mileage is unknown. The car is currently located in South River, New Jersey. The third-party inspection, as well as the photos of the vehicle, represent this bug with high esteem. The bedliner material applied to the car shows little imperfections, as does the black interior. The black composite fixed-back seats are in very presentable condition. The photos do reveal some paint chipping in the door jams. The overall mechanical condition of the car is good, and a video of the smooth-running, air-cooled engine can be seen in the inspection report. Included in the sale are one set of keys, a hitch receiver, seat covers, four jerrycans, and a roof cargo bag. This 1974 VW Beetle is being sold through a Pro and is located in South River, New Jersey. About the modelThe Volkswagen Type 1, or Volkswagen Beetle Type 1, was introduced in 1938. The Type 1 resulted from the Third Reich's vision for a 'Volks Wagen' (meaning People's Car in English), an inexpensive and simple car for the German public. Engineered by Ferdinand Porsche, the rear-engined Type 1 revolutionized packaging and design when it was released. The Type 1 Beetle has become a cultural icon since its creation and is one of the world's most produced cars. The Beetle was sold as a sedan or convertible, although it is common to find many Beetles modified to different body styles. Many variants have been offered over the years, one of the most well-known being the Super Beetle and even the offroad-focused and modified Baja Bug. The Type 1 remained in production until 2003, ending its 65-year production run, although sales of the Type 1 Beetle ended in 1979 for the US and Canada.Features and Specs 47k miles shown (To
