1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description:
Clementine is a freshened up 1971 L20D Clementine Orange Super Beetle looking for a home.The odometer says 59k and by the shape of her it ain’t lying. Clem has a non-number matching rebuilt 1600cc engine fitted a 34-PICT carb and a .009 distributor. Her interior has been brought back to life from the stock black panels and black high-back seats off-white low-back style seats for a more vintage look and feel.Other updates included disc brakes up front for added safety with newly rebuilt drum brakes out back, three-point modern seatbelts have also been installed in the factory locations for some added “reassuranceâ€. Clementine also has a new steering wheel, painted dash compartment, and new TMI carpet throughout. Clementine’s suspension has also had an overhaul, with all new bushings, wheel bearings, front struts (yup she has struts!), rear shocks, and rebuilt IRS axles sitting on brand new tires. She does sag in the rear a little as she has factory torsion bars and her suspension has not been adjusted from stock.
Clementine IS IN NEED of some new rubber seals to make her weather proof and does need a new headliner; she also has some rust spots, scratches, chips, and character on her outside, but her bones are dry as can be with floor-pans that are stock as a rock. She has not been involved in any accidents, has all original glass, and would love for you to take her for a cruise.
