1980 Volkswagen Vanagon Country Camper (westfalia)

1980 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Camper Pop Top Description:

Titled and registered with South Dakota. This is a nice clean low mileage pop top van done by country campers. The pop top is in good condition, just one small rip in the front screen that needs repair. The water and gas stove work great and have been recently serviced. Compression in all cylinders are above 120. Cylinder four is at 110. There was some rusty metal in the fuel injector that caused mis-firing and sludge buildup. I cleaned it, replaced injector (cleaned/serviced the others), replaced fuel tank, fuel filters, and hoses. Rebuilt throttle body, changed plugs, and timed the distributor. Runs great now. Also unplugged auxiliary air regulator and serviced. fixed some wiring issues, changed valve gaskets, oil change, & topped tranny oil. Drives straight and brakes well. I also tested the ecu and all the sensors. Fixed some wiring issues, cleaned points, and replaced oxygen sensor. Pressure washed and degreased engine compartment and undercarriage. Nice and clean now.
Issues: the sliding door is in subpar shape. Needs to be adjusted. I may do it if I can find the time. Also the horn and the fog lights do not work. I hooked up both to alternative power and they do work, so its a wiring issue. Will also try to fix soon. The rear bed pad is homemade and while servicable, should be replaced. Tires are in new condition. I have all the work and recepits done over the years as well as a Bentley manual for the new owner. This van is ready for some road trips and to be personalized.
