1985 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Weekender Description:

1985 Wesfalia Vanagon Weekender. When I purchased it a couple years ago it had a 2.1L engine swap which I've recently replaced with a 1.9L still on the 2.1L software. The 2.1L which I'll include in the sale needs a rebuild and I just wanted to keep the van driving so found a 1.9L locally. My needs have changed and I now need to sell the van to make room for other hobbies/finances so I'm now listing the van for sale. Prior to purchasing the previous owner who was a mechanic at the Bus Lab in Berkley did the 2.1L swap, replaced the interior, had the transmission rebuilt, added stainless coolant lines and had the pop top replaced. Since I owned it, I've added an external transmission cooler from gowesty, Pop top lift assist struts with additional brackets added for heavy load (currently setup for light load), Yakima roof racks with a large cargo carrier will be included, solar setup (Sunix 20A 12V/24V Solar Charge Controller and 100w semi flexible solar panel), interstate deep cycle aux battery, refrigerator, diesel starter conversion, just added a brand new go westy throttle body, recent replacement of the fuel lines and entire brand new power steering system (installed by PeaceVans 2017). I'm also including an Intrepid overland Vanagon Deluxe Engine Oil Cooler Kit ($600 new) which hasn't been installed. A couple things to note, the van does start and run but I haven't been using it for months and now makes some ticking noises coming from what seems like either the exhaust or head areas. It also needs the cooling system blead. I've filled it as much as I could but requires special tools to completely remove the air from the system. It's also developed an occasional hot start issue which I don't have time to diagnose. There are little small areas of rust but nothing that should be too much work to fix. This van will require some more work before she's road worthy hence the low sale price. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions or to request more photos. I will try and add more as I can make time (limited these days) to get more specific photos.
