1967 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon SO-42

Very nice, original VW Westfalia Camper Bus. I bought this on the other side of the state in 2015. It was owned by a family that had bought it from their neighbors in 1978. The neighbors were the original owners who special ordered the bus. They flew to Ireland to pick it up and spent the next 6 weeks touring around Europe before they put it on a ship and sent it home to Montana. I have a whole bunch of the original paper work and notes from their purchase and ownership.
I've done a little maintenance, but not much really. It's just been a very funoriginal VW bus to jump in and drive around town. I drive it to work most Fridays and occasionally on the weekends. I've never camped in it. I've only had it on the highway a few times. I can get it up to 60ish mph, but it's a struggle to keep it there. Everything works as it should. It really doesn't feel like a 52-year-old VW. It's a bit like a time capsule.
In the photos you can see: a bit of rust in the rockers, awavy driver's side rear corner repair, all original paint except where the poor repair work was done years ago, all original interior cabinets and seats, original door panels (note that the driver's side door panel is warped at the bottom probably due to a wing window being left open sometime in the past), original glass all around (I replaced the front window rubber being extra careful with the broken glass), a clean engine compartment, etc.
This bus isn't a rust bucket. It's not a major restoration project. This bus is fun, easy, clean, original, and a blast to own and drive.
I'm selling it because it's time. I've enjoyed it and will miss it like I miss all the VWs I once had the pleasure of owning.
I have a reserve on the bus. I hope it reaches it and goes well beyond. I'm not desperate to sell, but willing to sell. Remember: bid early and bid often. There's only one bus and one auction winner. Goodluck bidding!
