1976 Volkswagen Bus Westfalia Camper

1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Description:

We have decided that it is time to sell our VW Bus project.We purchased this about three months ago with visions of finishing it and traveling the country, but we just don’t have the time to work on it and don’t want the project to drag out for years.The previous owners took over 6 years to get it to where it is now, and we don’t want to spend that long trying to finish it!

This is a good, solid 1976 Westfalia Volkswagen Bus.It comes with a half dozen totes of parts (shown in one of the photos), both new and old, and nearly everything you will need to complete the restoration.Based on my evaluation of the project, here’s what it needs in order to get it back on the road:

·The engine was removed and rebuilt by the previous owner.It has been remounted, but none of the systems (exhaust, ignition, intake) have been hooked back up/reinstalled.The previous owner got hung up trying to find an original OEM distributor in an effort to keep the bus completely original.The only other pieces that I believe are needed are the heat exchangers in the exhaust system (if you choose to reinstall the heater).The bus will come with bypass pipes (J-pipes) that can be installed instead.

·The electrical system has been refreshed (not replaced) and is substantially in place, but not complete.It has all new lights and housings, lots of new wire, and the AC system has been redone.

·The brake system has been partially redone, but it is still missing a couple of lines and the master cylinder hasn’t been installed (but is included).New rotors and pads on the front and drum pads in the rear are in place, and there is an entire new set (rotors, pads) in boxes in addition to these.

·The interior is about 90% complete – one of the front seats has been reupholstered, but the driver’s seat has not.The dash needs to be rehabilitated, and the front door skins need to be replaced (template included), and the vent windows need to be re-installed (frames and original glass included).

The canvas on the pop-top has been replaced, every rubber seal has been replaced, the interior is well done with removable covers.We have the parts for the rare child sling that hangs over the front seats (adds a bed for a small child).
