1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description:

This 1974 Super Beetle is nearly all original with a few exceptions. The car has only 98k original miles. The Signal Orange paint is original and for a 45 year old car looks great. There are a few small dents and dings the worst of which are on the passenger door and on the right side of the hood. The car had some minor rust in the passenger side rear floor pan/ battery tray which has been repaired with an OEM German replacement panel which has been welded in and seam sealed. I also painted the entire underside of the floor pan with POR 15 to keep it from rusting in the future. The car is otherwise very solid. The rockers/heater channels are rust free. The car still has it's orange paint in the wheel wells and inner fenders.The interior is in excellent shape. I removed the seats and carpet when doing the floor pan and as a preventative measure I painted the interior floors with POR 15 as well. The seats had been recovered at some point but were poorly done. I removed the covers, replaced the seat pads and recovered the seats properly. I cleaned all the carpet and replaced it. Besides a few cracks the dash is in excellent shape. The original radio is in place and works. All the switches and such work as well as all the lights and signals.I removed the original 1600 engine, tore it down and rebuilt it. The rebuild included new rings, crank and cam bearings, honed jugs, German gasket kit, new oil cooler, new oil pump, and many other misc. parts. I also rebuilt the carburetor, re-painted all the cooling tins, replaced the alternator brushes, installed new ignition points and condenser, and new fuel lines and vacuum lines. The clutch and throw out bearing were also replaced. I also replaced the wheel cylinders and flushed all thebrake lines.The car runs and drives great. The transmission shifts smooth and trouble free. The tires have good tread but are old and should be replaced.Ifyou're looking for a nice original Super Beetle that is ready to enjoy as is this is certainly a nice example and worth considering.

I ordered a new muffler and tailpipes from Cip1 yesterday so which I'll install prior to shipping/pickup. The muffler was leaking a bit where the tailpipes attach.
