1956 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description:
Nicely restored 1956 Volkswagen Beetle “Oval Window” with the original numbers matching engine, chassis, and transmission. Restoration was completed in 2012, has been garage kept and only driven 300 miles since completion. The original mileage on the car is 68,000.Interior was done using an original style VW vinyl interior kit and left totally original except for the Motorola radio. Even the original “flipper” valve for the extra 1.1 gallons of gas works like new too. If you will notice “Beetle’s” of this vintage did not have gas gauges.
Body is rust free and painted in Zanzibar Porsche Red urethane. Glass and chrome are excellent. New rubber weather stripping.
Under the front bonnet is the original tool kit and a matching white wall spare tire.
Engine is the original 1192 cc / 36 h.p. 4 cylinder rebuilt to the stock specifications and retains the original 6 volt electrical system. Transmission and suspension has also been rebuilt to the stock 1956 VW specs.
Car runs great and is very reliable.
