| This is a VERY unique Vanagon. I personally had not seen or heard of this version with this seat configuration. Apparently this was made to cater to the "business executive"! The front seats are normal, non-swiveling. The middle seats, however swivel 360 degrees and have attached arm rests and seat belts. The two rear "front-facing" seats are what set this baby apart. The are fully ELECTRIC for all adjustments and fully recline (switches need a little work, not all are functioning properly)!!! There is a table that slides UP from the wall and lays down between the four seats for card games or that all-important business deal!! This is all factory VW stuff. I have a German brochure that will go with the sale that confirms this. I have made MANY MANY repairs and improvements which I will attempt to list but I am sure will forget some. New parts: --rear spring plates --All new headlight beam adjusters --complete new exhaust system including CAT and muffler (VERY $$$$$$) --Bus Depot front floor mats --Drivers side power window switch --All 4 shocks replaced --New water pump --New alternator --Lots of new fuel and vacuum lines --All new metal brake lines to all 4 wheels --PO replaced all shoes, cylinders and calipers. --Turned drums and front discs --all 8 lifters replaced --all 8 push-rod tubes replaced --Two new front tires --Recently tuned with cap, rotor, plugs, oil change, valve covers etc.. --All three wiper blades are new Bosch Icons! --New stereo, blue tooth, I-pod input, AM/Fm etc.. and 4 new speakers --New battery --Limo tint on all windows. Stays MUCH cooler in the summer This Vanagon has power windows, power locks, power mirrors (passenger side not working), power steering and power brakes. The A/C blows COLD, but has a slow leak that needs recharged once a year. Heat works GREAT (it's water cooled so...) All wipers and washer systems work great! Even the door and key "buzzers" still work! I've never owned a quieter, smoother, easier driving Vanagon. This thing is a JOY to drive. Took it on an 800 mile round trip to Blue Ridge Georgia last year and the trip was un-eventful!! The over-all body condition I would rate as very good. Yes there is some rust. I have LOTS of pics of the work I did to repair and stop some of the rust from spreading. I can send these to anyone interested. I pulled all the lower valances and side trim off the Van. I purchased some excellent used front and rear bumpers. I cleaned and sanded the areas behind these panels on the van and treated all the rust areas with Extend Rust Inhibitor. I then painted the van flat black behind where all the lower panels go. I also painted all the trim panels satin black. It all looks really amazing. I painted the upper and lower grills satin black as well. There were a few small rust holes in the corners of the back window and side rear window. I treated them with the Extend and filled the holes with seam sealer and painted them flat black. The worst rust is right behind the right rear wheel. It is behind the lower valance panel but the bubbling can be seen at the seams. I have pics of this as well. When I purchased the Vanagon it had evidence of being "egged" on the drivers side. I tried to buff this out (as well as the rest of the Van) but there is still some there. I am certain an experienced body man could make the paint shine pretty good. I am sure I am leaving out a few details and would be happy to discuss anything with interested parties. The Van has developed a slight, intermittent "hiccup" off acceleration from a stop. I am attempting to remedy this before the sale. It never dies and doesn't really affect the overall "dive ability" it is just a small inconvenience. |
