1976 VW Westfalia

1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Description:

This 1976 VW Westfalia is a project I started but never finished. It had all the typical northeast rust issues and needs someone to get after it with a welder. I re-did the top of the engine and it is waiting for the engine bay to be put back together. I.e. that means you will need to bring a trailer or some means to tow it.

I have a lot of new body panels. What I don't have is generally easy to find. The rear engine area is rotted out and I have a donor frame to be welded in (see pictures). There also was some body work done by the previous owner that was, to be charitable, not done correctly. This bus needs some welding, body repair and TLC.

Also I have a lot of replacement parts like rear lights, canvas top, door handles, etc. It has the stove, sink and refrigerator as well as a power inverter. It can be plugged into shore power and water.

I still have the title from the previous owner that was signed over to me, it is a clear NY state title. I never registered it because I was planning on doing that, well you know, when I was done rebuilding it.

The engine has the heating components installed and assembled and there still is the stock fuel injection still in place. This bus comes with whatever bus parts I have. It all must go...

Why am I selling it? As it turns out my wife and I moved into a much larger Winnebago and are driving around the US. We have to clear everything out of the barn because we are selling it. If you want a project this is for you.
