1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Landau Roof Description:
This California Cutie was my grandfathers "Sunday Car". He bought it New in 1971 and he claimed it was never driven in the Rain- He was a California Motorcycle Police Officer now known as a CHIP and a member of the Solano County Air Squadron-doing search and rescue as well as racing his plane. His (AOPA) Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association decal is in the rear window.
After his death in 1983 I drove it to Indiana had it Ziebarted and drove it very rarely-Covered Bridge Festivals etc. When the registration expired in 1985 it was parked in my garage with a dead battery-and remained there until I had it restored last month:New- Tires,Brakes,Gas Tank,Exhaust-Tachometer,Gas gauge,Engine parts including Belts,Plugs,Battery, etc.Mechanically everything works and it runs great-
Pumpkin Orange with a Green Landau Top-There are a few rock chips on the car (see photos) but No Rust and a vertical dent over the drivers rear wheel (see photo #2).Actual Mileage 65,618-now has an Indiana Clear Title.
