1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel Pickup Description:

Working pickup. Great bike hauler. Driven almost every day. 40-45 mpg on Oregon Diesel (Some biodiesel). 5 speed transmission overhauled 2012. Engine rebuilt VW appropriate to year. Engine runs well. Guessing about 80000 miles on engine.
Biodiesel compatible. Recently replaced 4 radiator hoses, turn signal switch, and front axels. Windshield washer works. Clock works. Tires 2011 vintage.
New 1984 vintage radio. Works well.
Mileage recorded on odometer is approximate. Odometer stopped working a few months before transmission overhaul in 2012. Resumed working after transmission overhaul.
Some surface rust. Never driven on salted roads. Never housed in salt-water environment.
Right rear bumper end cracked. Left front bumper end missing.
Interior rough but serviceable. Door seals and bed cover seal original and due for replacement.
License plate lights replaced with LED light. Backup lights do not work. Note missing insulation and cover in engine compartment.
Currently licensed and titled.
Drivable as far as you have the courage to drive knowing you are driving a 36 year old vehicle.
