1961 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description:

Recently uncovered 1961 VW Beetle 1200 sedan. This is a matching numbers car that was generally a one owner car, but inherited after it had sat for almost 30 years and registered to sell due to death certificate transfer. Last registration was in 1989 and we have the paperwork. The car was cleaned up, gas tank removed and cleaned, fuel lines replaced, new fuel pump (original does come with sale). Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor replaced. Original distributor cap comes with sale. New drum brake pads and wheel cylinders all around. New swing axle boots. New tires and battery. I have done a lot of scrubbing and there is probably more to be done on the interior. Floor mats are fine but the carpet really needs to be replaced. Front seats and door panels cleaned up well and are good. Headliner appears to be in very clean and new condition, but the adhesive has come loose in some areas and just needs to be re-adhered. This car will drive anywhere and has plenty of power for a 40 hp engine. There is literally zero rust on the car except a small area under the battery area on passenger side. Both jack points are perfect! Has original spare tire...keep for nostalgia or replace. Comes with original jack, owners manual and some extra parts. Lights, wipers, all work. Dash is in original condition, uncut. Stamps under rear seat and in tire area match.... Car was purchased originally from Snyder's VW in Knoxville, TN and has remained in Knoxville it's entire life. Paint is very good and car is originally black...I suspect it was repainted at some point but have no record of that. Believed to have the original miles of 67,972 on the odometer based on seller's comments and the service stickers still present on the door.
