1987 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Description:

1987 Vanagon Westy with 172,XXX miles. 2.1L Automatic 3-speed, no annoying manual to deal with. Transmission is excellent and shifts great, full service done last month. Excellent interior that makes it hard to believe it is 30 years old this year. Like any unrestored vanagon, it shows its wear with minor surface rust on the seams and some rust spots under the windows on the slider, lips and left rear window. Paint is what you would expect, as seen in the pictures. No overall shine but looks good after a wash. No rust-through anywhere on the body. Plenty of work completed to include:
-Replaced Left rear CV Joint. 12/16
-Replace Left side upper vent hoses to gas tank. 3/17
-Removed transmission, replaced rear main seal, seals between halves of trans, second gear brake band cover seals, cleaned filter screens. Full service on trans. 3/17
-Replaced ground tree and installed Gowesty Headlight upgrade.3/17
-Replaced window washer pump and cleaned switch
-Replaced final diff cover gasket. 11/16
-Standard oil changes
-Replaced all the outer seals of driver and passenger windows.
Previous owner did plenty of work also to include front brakes at the end of 2015 and completely repaired the thermostat as it was having cooling problems indicated on the receipt.

Fridge, Sink, and Stove all work! Has been used this summer on camping trips for verification.
Pop-up tent appears to be the original and shows with some aging on it. It has one window on it, with the mesh having a tear in it, which can be noted in the pictures. The upper mattress in the pop-up is in great condition.
In-dash Kenwood head unit. Bluetooth and USB. No CD player, 2016 model. Blaupunkt 5 1/4 inch speakers in front, Pioneer 6-inch speakers in the rear. Sounds great, nothing fancy though.

Vehicle runs and drives great. Has been all over east coast in the last year.
I have all the curtains inside the van with the windshield privacy curtain. I also have the bug screen that covers the rear opening when the hatch is up.
