Here we have is a very nice 1978 VW Volkswagen Super Beetle – Classic Convertible

Car is locally advertised so in the event an offer is accepted, I reserve right to end auction early so do not wait to bid or email me today on this one.

This car is in Very Good Condition for its age. “39 yrs old” Stored indoors.

Interior:

-Seats are in good condition, and original.Driver’s Seat is starting to show wear on bottom.

- Fitted with a unique small GT 3-spoke Drag Style Steering wheel with working horn. Allows even a large frame person to feel comfortable!

-Dash is in good condition and all gauges (tach, speedo, odometer work. Cylinder head temp (gauge) did not test, keep forgetting…Also has 2 EXTRA Gauges for Oil Pressure, & Temp & room for another gauge EMPI Faceplate covers empty gauge.

-All lights and gauges work.

-Carpet is in good condition. Trunk LOOKS Great inside. (see photos)

- Needs aftermarket radio installed, since someone took it upon themselves to remove the original Blaupunkt radio without my approval.Speakers still installed in front and rear and all wiring intact. Antenna is straight and original.

-Visors are new OEM – both replaced. The map light even works.

- Basically, interior on car is Great condition. Well preserved.

Exterior:

-A solid Car mostly rust free car that was previously owned by an owner from out West (possibly California?) The heater boxes on both sides are both in working order. The typical Midwest rot is NOT present here. It has been re-painted at some time or another, but I believe it was only to enhance the fading paint.Patina apparently wasn’t appreciated at that time.This Blue really pops in the sun light. Paint work was done well. Very straight car with brand New tires and American Racing Drag Style Wheels (original wheels no longer available). Appears the front headlights modified to Halo Sealed Beam and rear LED taillights were spared no expense to be “current” with today’s looks. Just wash and wax and this gorgeous V-Dub's show ready.

Chrome Front Bumper and Custom Rear Bump Guards are also in great shape. Fitted with Quad Exhaust Chrome Tips & Rear Hood Vent Guard and LED Engine Lights for cool Blue Hue.

Top:

Top on the car is non-power and easily opens and closes. Top material is in good shape and was replaced at one time.There is one small patch (passenger side above window) and under the rear window, the seam is starting to come away from the window. The white headliner, although not torn, is weathered, probably due to the lack of boot cover.

Engine:

Engine bay is clean and well kept. (see photos)

The engine was also rebuilt at the time of restoration but we cannot verify exactly what was done internally as there are no receipts for the car. I was told that the odometer was reset to zero, so the miles on the car are approximately 24K. According to the previous owner, the engine is a 1974 carbureted version, since there were a considerable amount of issues with the Fuel Injection on the newer model engines.Engine starts quickly and runs strong. I have yet to witness any leaks.

Transmission/Drivetrain:

The 4-Speed Manual Transmission shifts fine from gear to gear and is ready to take on the cruise to the upcoming Duck Tail Run at the James Dean Festival in Gas City, Indiana.Don’t wait to make a reasonable offer on the great eye catcher! If it doesn’t sell this on this venue, I may just have to DRIVE IT MYSELF to the SHOW!

SUMMARY…No disappointments here. A GREAT Driver Car that is ready to cruise TODAY. We did not find anything that the car needs at this time other than minor brake adjustment. Like any used Classic Car, there will be unnoticed items that you or your inspection service may find, but I do my best to be as thorough as possible and give my buyers the best possible description that I can.
