Recent service included carburetor, timing, and valve adjustments as well as a tune-up and fluid changes. This TR4 is offered with a partial tool kit, repair manuals, spares, British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The bodywas originally Spa White per the included Heritage certificate, repainted in black under previous ownership. Flaws in finish noted in photos. The grille and front bumper were damaged from a truck backing into the car at a stoplight.

Original 15” steel wheels chemically etched and painted in Argentine Silver are wrapped in new rubber. Spare has the Michelin XZX that came with the car in 1986. Polished hubcaps show their age, though have a good appearance.

Two hoods (soft top for US market) are included in the sale, both AMCO. The older, black unit is intact, though some stitches are broken. The white unit was recently acquired and is a NOS item.

The interior is equipped with a factory steering wheel, a vinyl-covered dash (incorrect, should be painted), and new black vinyl bucket seats with memory foam cushioning. Included in the sale are a pair of seats from a later TR4. Slider frames are date stamped 1965. Jaeger gauges include a 5-digit odometer showing approximately 12k miles, which the seller states has rolled over once during their ownership. Included in the box of spares is a polarity converter to allow use of (-) ground electronics. The carpets were replaced in 1995. Photos in the gallery show floors taken back to bare metal and repainted.

The 2,138cc inline-four is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Recent work included fitment of a new ignition coil, rotor, condenser, spark plugs, ignition wires, and fuel lines as well as valve, timing, and carburetor adjustments. The engine, transmission, and differential oil was also changed. Minor oil leaks were noted during the last 11 months, but hey, it is a British sports car. Without leaks you might think this is an imposter. An aftermarket electric fuel pump has been added, and an aftermarket header is mated to a stainless steel exhaust system from the Roadster Factory. The unused upper pipe of the stainless exhaust system is included in the sale in the event a new owner wishes to revert to a standard exhaust manifold.

The seller states that the shocks and suspension bushings appear to be original and likely in need of replacement. (“Minor oil leaks were noted during the last 11 months, but hey, it is a British sports car. Without leaks you might think this is an imposter.” Owner). Owner pressure washed the undercarriage to remove some of the 57 years of patina, photos in gallery detail current conditions.

Spares include a flywheel cover and fasteners (new MOSS unit), a fan belt (new MOSS item), an ignition coil (Lucas), an air cleaner assembly, radiator hoses, a fuel filler with a missing ear, pedal pads, and more. Repair manuals are also provided with the car.

The British Heritage Trust certificate displays the original colors and options as well as listing chassis number CT/8220-L, engine number CT/8477-E, and body number 9217-CT, which are matched by the chassis tags and engine stamping shown in the gallery.
