1977 Triumph TR8 Good Description:

Time for my fantastic TR8 to find a new home. She’s been sitting in the garage waiting for her next
owner to take her out and pretty her up. She’s a lovely California rust free car with tons of potential.The TR8 shot to notoriety in Europe as a factory rally car in the 1970’s. The demand from the public was so high they decided to put it into production. With a dependable rover V8 3.5 motor and 5 speed manual gear box this car was a winner from day one. With good feel and spirited handling this makes it a very fun and fast car to drive. If you’ve never tried one you really should you will be pleasantly surprised. The gentleman I purchased the car from originally parked it up due to a small gas leak. While it was in the garage he decided it was time for a new coat of exterior paint And went so far as to get her into primer.... this is the condition which I found her. I must say the body is solid and straight. I personally have decided to not go further with the project as my Porsche 911‘s took priority. I hadn’t even started the car until today when I purchased a new battery and gave it a touch of starting fluid. She instantly fired into life and ran smooth and smoke free. The engine sounds much better than I would have expected after a 10 year hiatus. The car hasn’t been driven as I still haven‘t found the source of the leak and will be selling the car as a running project. I’m sure there will be some small jobs to be done on the Triumph as you would expect with any car that has been stood up for 10 years. To be sold on a bill of sale. There is not currently a California title although I can supply one at the cost of $300 to the buyer. Unless the car is to be sold out of state and this will not be necessary. **Update: Several Ebay members have been helpful in identifying more about the car. It’s looks as if this was originally a Triumph TR7 that has been upgraded with a TR8 motor and transmission. Apparently this is a very common upgrade and looks as if it’s been nicely completed. Also I’m including a photo of the California Vin tag. Anyone that has any information on this car as far as it’s history is concerned, please send us a message. It would be great to know more about this cars story and helpful to the new future owner.
