1959 Triumph TR3 Description:

I'm going to try my best here but with no guarantee's. I bought the TR3A from a guy in Arizona for a Father Son project. We did a body off restoration but by no means a professional job. There was some small rust present in the floorboards and rockers so we replaced them. We took it to a local paint shop for a middle of the road paint job price wise. We worked on it off and on over probably a 6-10 year period while he was in high school and college. We ran new brake lines and put new rear brakes on. The front worked fine and the pads were good so that's all we did brake wise. We put in a new clutch and new master and clutch cylinders as well as the slave cylinder. It got a new wiring kit which included a new fuse holder as seen in the pictures. We converted to a 12 volt system with an alternator and high speed starter for the engine. We also added an easy spin on/off oil filter, In our research all of these were recommended. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts perfect. Tires are all matching and were bought new a few years back. Probably due to lack of driving the front brakes aren't working like they should and the calibers need to be rebuilt or replaced, The back brakes stop the car but I wouldn't consider it safe without rebuilding the front brake calibers or replacing them. All the running lights work but not all the lights in the gauges light up. I never drove the car at night so I wasn't concerned with gauge lights. We couldn'tget the turn signal(trafficator) to work to we added a small toggle switch on the bottom of the dash for turn signals. It's small and not really noticeable. The horn button in the steering wheel didn't work either being part of the turn signals in the steering wheel.Weconverted the push button starter into the horn button. The old key switch became our key switch and starter. The wiper motor is in place but doesn't work.Since the car didn't leave the garage if rain was in the forecast the wipers weren't an issue. Not having side curtains went along with not being driven on a rainy day. The top is brand new and very tight fit so I leave it off. The carhas TR4 seats in it which are more comfortable than the TR3A seats. I don't have the oldseat frames.I would consider the front brake calibers to be the only main issue. Mileage shown is not accurate since it's not the original speedometer. The rest of the smaller items will give the new owner something to tinker with like Triumph owners do.Please email me with any questions.
