1982 Toyota Other SR5 Description:

Good Day and thank you for reading my post.

I am a retired veteran who purchased this truck in 2014 with hopes of a FULL FRAME OFF RESTORATION, but due to existing employment conditions I must reprioritize and let her go.

History:

The truck was purchased by a family and stored for some time in Nevada after her husband had passed.It was bought and transferred by 2 other senior families who used it for light shopping and boating where eventually I was lucky enough to purchase her at an auction to pursue my project.

Upon purchase I brought the truck to Rodland Toyota who did a full service (valves set, plugs, wires, distributor, flush, trans oil, rear dif oil, and eng oil)to include we discovered a small leak in the rear main seal.

Rodland was kind enough to put a small ding in my roof (please don’t ask how) to include stain my original steering wheel cover and broke my hood lever.After all was addressed minus the roof, I decided to take my business to a family owned Master Mechanic at Wardell Automotive where the truck is routinely oil changed here and recently had the breaks completed.

Changes:

Front Windshield

I did have the front window replaced as the stock gasket was cracked. Replaced with a Toyota Gasket and aftermarket glass as the window had a small ding.

Rear Windshield

I also had the rear glass replaced with the tinted slider by CRlaurance as I smoked glass versus tinted served my purpose

Stereo

Invested 3.5k in a Diamond / Kenwood100+watt custom stereo from Sound Adviceto include a CompPro security system and interior red lighting. As you can see we used the existing stock knobs to include a monitor that fits perfectly into the dash. NOTHING was cut.

Center Console

Sound Advice modified to accommodate the Kenwood system as it uses a dial much like what you see in modern vehicles to include a wired switch system to accommodate the lighting for the restoration.

Rear Bumper:

I also had custom bumper mount fabricated (Off set the existing hole mounts to accommodate the second generation Chrome bumper) and installed which cosmetically complements the existing rear end and style.

No other modifications have been made.

Issues:

None known mechanically or personally. The only issue I have with the truck was as bought which is it was missing the splash guard on the passenger side front left. I resolved that by purchasing a much better aftermarket OEM set with all PINS included, see below.

No Rust except for a few bed rear bed bolts which are shown and are superficial.
There are also a few scratches in the bed frame and bolts installed from previous owners cab use.

She starts, she idles to 2k, she comes down after warming up and runs perfectly, AC is very cold,

she runs like a charm.

I use her to commute 5 mins to work and basic tasks around town thus the only 4k miles for the approximate 3 years.
