1980 Toyota Hilux camper Description:

My father bought two of these BRAND NEW in 1980.

This is the Bonanza Bandit 2

The Toyota chassis is from 1978 . The RV company Bonanza customized a fully contained camper onto it and sold them new for 1980. Please web search BONANZA BANDIT.

It breaks my heart to have to sell them but I am out of work and desperately need to pay bills like everyone else. My father passed away many years ago and my mother gave it to me. It drove last 13 years ago to meet the transport to bring it to me in New York. I wanted to restore it but never had the chance.

The floor plan in this one has a long couch where the back rest folds over and down to make a nice size bed. On top, a pull-out board with sliding cushions above driver and front passenger also makes for another bed. This unit sleeps 4 average size people comfortably. An option ready moonroof was not ordered but contour ready on top.

Speakers around the camper, lots of cabinets…. This is a self-contained unit.

There is a lot of rust on the chassis. The entire camper part is in EXCELLENT SHAPE!!! THE ENTIRE CAMPER PART IS FIBERGLASS ! It is almost 45 years old! It’s a classic RV! It would be perfect to bring somewhere and block it up high and build a deck around it like in the woods or your own backyard. I remember as a teenager my dad telling me that the camper was bolted onto the chassis. Ideally you could do that today and bolt it onto a modern pickup truck like a Toyota Tacoma. This chassis is a four cylinder manual transmission.

This self- contained unit has a two pilot range and heating unit…. Propane tank attached underneath…factory installed May need servicing. Sink with hand pump … large water tank underneath inside camper….OR city water connection direct flow. 12 volt refrigerator is long gone but easily obtainable new!!!! ELECTRIC FLUSH TOILET… (not a portapotty )with holding tank underneath…. Just attach slinky hose and pull valve at dumping station.

ENTIRE ROOF POPS UP to an interior height of 6’1” ( or 2”)

External outlet for 120…. Space under hoo, next to engine for 12 v deep cycle battery which powers the camper.

Top fabric in very nice condition with zippered screen windows.
