Only 1800 of these models were sold in Japan. Only 5000 total were made in the world. This particular model is #66 out of 5000.

In order for Toyota to compete with the ST185 Celica in the World Rally Championship Group A series, Toyota was required to comply with FIA homoligation regulations.For Group A, the manufacturer was required to produce a limited number of road cars, that would have identicalcomponents used on the competition race car. The Celica GT-FOUR RC, or "rally competition" was Toyota's homoligation special.

- light weightbumper with more openings for air flow
