1989 Studebaker Avanti Description:
Located in Kingman AZ. Buyer's personal inspection preferred, photos gladly furnished and questions happily answered.NOTE: Presently the driver's power window needs the gear repaired. This is a common fault and I have a new gear kit but the heat in AZ has kept me out of my garage. Driving in 100+ temps the temperature runs around 210 on the gauge, I have never had it over heat, There is slight blue smoke on startup from what I would think is dry valve stem seals.
My Avanti is offered for adoption locally as well. I much prefer in person inspection and transaction to be sure the car is right for you.
This is an extraordinary, head turning example of the Avanti continuation. Exceptional condition inside and out. Turnkey. For sale because I just don't drive it. EVERYTHING works EVEN THE CLOCK! AC blows cold. Original black finish has a couple of stress cracks that are barely noticeable. In most cases collectors prefer original paint and this Avanti has incredible gloss and does not need a repaint. Interior is in very good condition. This is a stand up, stand out car. Studebaker ceased production in 1963. The Avanti marque had a continuation run through 4 different companies through 2006. These were manufactured with GM SBC on a Caprice (?) chassis. Parts are readily available and repairs are not difficult. This model year does NOT have the problematic "Hog troughs". This can be driven daily but I won't park it in most parking lots to prevent "idiot" damage. I purchased an H2 for a daily driver and we have several other cars and as much as I respect and love the Avanti I just don't drive it. I am 6'3 and 300lbs (and 69 years old) and this is a TIGHT fit best suited to a younger more limber driver. asking $24.500. Shown by appointment.
