1988 Saab 900 Turbo SPG Description:

Rare SPG with special glossy black paint (only 400 imported) and Sierra tan Elmo Swedish leather in great condition. Western car, now in New Mexico, lovingly maintained for 13 years by the current owner and regional Saab guru Scott Lundquist. The car is fast and drives straight and true, with tight suspension and perfect handling. Equipped with Hakkapellitta R2s with 7/32 inches of tread. Fully restored boot cover, rear speaker panels, leather three-spoke Saab steering wheel, added leather shift knob and extra gauges, replaced Saab leather shift boot, headliner and A-pillar covers (see photos). Heat is good and variable; seat heater elements replaced. A/C needs a recharge. Motorized antenna, defrosters, motorized mirrors, blower, heater control, cruise control, and dash lighting good. Nakamichi AM/FM with great sound. Carpeting is in exceptional shape for this vintage. Rear seats are virtually perfect, while fronts are fully intact except for one 4-inch crack on the passenger seat and rub spot on left driver's bolster. CarFax is clean. AutoCheck shows a reported attempted burglary as an "accident" in 1991 (previous owner), which left the passenger side key lock inoperable--but central locking works fine. Front bumper was bumped recently; so smoothed and painted both bumpers. Body paint is original and without a clear coat. Sun roof works beautifully. Engine (at 240k) and transmission (at 226k) replaced with Saab built used units. Engine is very strong, smooth and passes the emissions check. Recently replaced both fuel pumps and relay. Trans VG but second gear has sticky synchro when cold and when downshifting. Amsoil 100% synthetic oil used since purchasing. Clutch and brakes good. Three spoke SPG wheels beautiful. Sachs Advantage shocks recent. Steering box rebuilt. Control arm mounting points good. Just replaced brake booster and rebuilt wipers linkage. Virtually rust free except for small patch on the LF fender and a thin line in RF fender. Full set of original tools in flip down tray. Good spare in unused condition. Maintenance records in a digital spreadsheet. Car includes spare parts, extra SPG wheel, Bentley repair manual with notes, and virtually new owner's manual.
