1991 Saab 900 Description:

Up for sale is my 1991 Saab 900 SE (special edition) Monte Carlo Convertible. It is one of only 300 Monte Carlo Yellow convertibles sold in the U.S. and considered by many in the Saab community to be on the short list of holy grail collectible Saab's. Always garaged and never driven during the winter. These photo's were taken on 3/11/2019...the first time this car has been out of the garage since last October. Stored under cover on a trickle charger.
Last year one of the other 300 '91 Saab Monte Carlo's sold for $18,000 on BringATrailer.com I've just lowered the "buy it now" to $10,950 for a quick sale. Reasonable offers considered.
Less than 4,000 miles ago (2016) the engine and transmission were removed from the car and rebuilt by the previous owner. The mechanical refresh and restoration included the following:

The Saab Monte Carlo is a show stopper everywhere I go whether a car show or my local Cars & Coffee. The photo's really don't do it justice as it is simply a striking car to see in person. Included (but not shown) is the stock parade boot. No rust issues anywhere. This Saab has had one professional respray. Cold a/c and very clean engine bay.
The interior has very nice dark gray leather with only one area of need (a split seam on the outside of the drivers seat now covered with tape- see photo). Very clean dash with only a couple small (1/4 inch) cracks in the usual places. I installed four new speakers last summer but only the front pair are currently working with the original Clarion radio/cassette/equalizer. I suspect an issue with the pre-amp connection under the rear seat but since I'm usually only driving with the top down anyway, it wasn't an issue.
The convertible top is water tight and in good shape. There is one small hardly noticeable one inch wear spot on the top above the glass rear window. The top motor works as it should.
Needs:I've enjoyed this Monte Carlo as it sits but there are a few minor needs for the next owner
the drivers seat moves back and forward but the tilt knob switch is missing- an easy fixdrivers side front headlight washer arm is missingsmall 2-inch dent (paint not broken) in the rear drivers side panel next to the trunk lidelectric radio antenna occasionally will not completely retractanti lock warning light was intermittent and is now on. Does not affect driveability.

All in all this is a wonderful running and driving classic Saab that has and will continue to increase in collector value. While not a perfect concours show car that you're afraid to drive, it's rare enough that you are likely to never see another one in person outside of a Saab car show. Clean autocheck, Carfax- no accident history... clear Virginia title in hand.
I currently own three convertibles...probably two more than I need. My kids are off to college so I no longer need a 4-seater. Taking a cue from Marie Kondo (author of the mega selling book: "The lifetime magic of tidying up") I am trying to put my car hoarder days in the rear view mirror. I'm not totally letting go however as I still have two other Saab classics in my garage.
Personal inspections are encouraged. The car is garaged just outside of Charlottesville, Va and a few miles from the airport. Fly in and drive it home or I am happy to work with your shipper.
