One of a kind 1983 Renault lecar or le car R5
If you don’t know the history of the LeCar they were introduced in the late 70s by Renault to compete with Vw beetles.
Renaults were imported to the US in the early 80s and LeCar was one of the models that made it. These are very rare cars to find.
This is a 4dr model with the biggest engine 1.4L, I think they had a 900cc and a1100.The previous owner sates that the engine is 1.6L with a 1.8L head. It also has performance can with a 2 step installed into the accelerator ignition system. It also has a big leather sunroof.
The car was originally gold and has been dipped recently to matte black.
The engine was rebuilt less than 5k miles ago.This one is specially unique the updates are too many to list but you can look at the pictures and see them all. Some of the updates include:
• air intake• 2 stage rev control• upgraded ignition system, super coil distributer• roll bar• straight pipe (sounds amazing) twin exhaust tip• battery has been moved to the rear with a battery maintainer attached• after market gauges (rpm, oil, temp)• 2 pc after market wide rims all tires recently sealed• fender flares• new water pump• new thermostat and hoses• new brake master cylinder• rear drums completely rebuilt• engine and transmission fluid changes • tires are sealed and in good condition one of them is brand new the other 3 have 80% left
Comes with a bunch of spare parts (2 boxes). Also included is a complete shop manual and owners manual with a Renault jacket.
