1986 Porsche 911 Targa! No Reserve

1986 Porsche 911 Description:

Up for sale is a very nice, rare, classic Prussian blue 1986 Porsche 911Targa. This car was my father's favorite toy! The only reason I am selling it is because I have no need for another vehicle and he would not have wanted it just sitting around in a garage (he passed away two years ago). I had the car completely gone over by a Porsche mechanic in the fall and mostly everything works (power windows, seats, etc.). The radio works but not very well - not sure if it is the speakers or the radio, however. The leather seats are in good condition (no tears or stains), as is the carpet. There is air conditioning, but probably needs recharging. The interior is all original (with the exception of the headliner, which I had professionally replaced by this same mechanic).The paint is original and still shines, but there are some scuffs and marks that could use refurbishing. This car is quick and fun and drives very well for a 34-yr-old car. The tires are brand-new. The car has been garage-kept since my father purchased it. I am selling it at no reserve below historical book value due to the fact that we need to settle the estate. With a little TLC, this car could be showroom quality in no time!

The engine is the original engine with the original mileage and has not been rebuilt. My father purchased the car in 2000 and put about 18,000 miles on it in the 20 years he had it. It has not been driven much in the years since the last registration in 2017. He was meticulous about his vehicles and this vehicle was regularly maintenanced, although I am unable to find the maintenance schedules so far. He had regular oil changes, tire rotation, etc. There have been no mechanical failures to my knowledge, nor failures to the drivetrain, transmission, etc. The car shifts smoothly from 1st to 5th gear and into reverse. The gears squeak sometimes but I think they need to be oiled. There are no leaks in the engine, radiator or transmission that I have noticed, as I have run the car for periods of time to see if such leaks appeared. I moved the car from the garage to my residence but I will not be available for personal inspection until Tuesday the 25th. There is no rust on the body and you can see from the pictures of the undercarriage that the car was garage kept. I added a picture of the trunk compartment and I have the carpeting that goes with it as well, along with 2 keys, the master key and original manual. I hope I answered all the questions but if I did not, I apologize and please feel free to contact me.
There is a small tear on the Targa top, which I did not see until today. It is small and looks repairable. Also, the car needs cleaning - inside and out. I washed it, but haven't had time to do a full detail on it. Pictures were taken as is with no wax and no carpet cleaning, so imagine what a good detailing will do!
