1981 Porsche 911 SC Targa Description:

This is an original, matching numbers, southern California Car. I am the 4th owner. The following work was completed before I purchased the vehicle last year in May 2018. In 1999, there was an engine rebuild and the interior was restored. Only about 113,000 miles on full engine rebuild. Over 300,000 miles on chassis. Color is Platinum Metallic (655) and Beige Leather. 5-Speed (915) Transmission. Straight Chassis. No Accidents. Runs like a champ. Has been well cared for. Upgrades include Hella H4 headlamps, Bosch Starter, Ignition Switch (separate keys for locks/ignition), Updated Chain Tensioner kit, brake master cylinder (45k miles ago), rebuild complete AC system, updated turbo tie rods, rebuild control unit upgraded 80mph speedometer to 150mph speedometer, replaced cruise control computer, rebuild transmission (124k miles ago). Engine rebuild (77k miles ago) included replaced intake valves and new timing chain, new engine seals, replaced all oil/fuel lines and hoses. It was over $15k service.
Vehicle sold in 2006 and moved to Chicago. Mostly used as a weekend driver and never driven in winter or as a commuter. Owner and vehicle relocated to San Diego in 2013. He completed the following services: Major service, new clutch kit/resurface flywheel, replace shifter bushings, new radio, new catalytic converter, refinished Fuch wheels, replaced front struts and rear shocks with Bilsteins, replaced fuel lines, repaired oil pump, replaced alternator, restored gauges, and new brake rotors and pads. In 2017, Autobahn Interiors completely restored the interior in full leather. over $13k interior restoration included: restoring the targa top, new windshield, carpet kit, new trunk carpet, new door targa seals, recover steering wheel in black leather.
Vehicle had a complete glass out repaint in 2002 in the original factory color. there are some minor paint chips/blemishes as this car has been driven. The targa bar was refinished with a textured finish instead the usual smooth finish. It has the typical minor oil leak that comes with this Porsche. Power windows and all lights work including the engine light (but its not that bright). The AC blows very cold and the heater works good as well. New deck lid shocks were also installed.
I bought the car in May of 2018 and had a major service completed at 911 Design in Montclair, CA. The catalytic converter was removed and the warm up regulator was rebuilt. Smog is good through October 2019. I replaced the receiving unit and the rear tail light lenses to the yellow Euro look. Also replaced the high beam/blinker switch & battery. All electrical works except the interior dome light and the clock (as usual). Radio works, but has a lot of static as the antenna does not go up. I've only driven about 2k miles since I bought it and keep in my garage. Hate to sell it, but I'm trying to clear up my finances. I do not have the title in hand as the vehicle is financed. Great car that looks really good, and drives even better. Very fun car to drive! Bidding starts at $31,000. Respond to the Ad if you have any questions or want other pictures. Serious buyers only...no low ballers. I don't HAVE to sell it. I do not need any help selling the vehicle as I'd rather keep it than pay someone to sell it for me. Thanks for looking.
