1974 Porsche 911 Description:

This is my brothers car- his writing follows:
I've owned this car for several years, and had no intention of selling it, but I have found a rural property and I need funds to facilitate that purchase. I was in the middle of putting this car on a diet, with a goal of sub 1900lbs. I have removed the air conditioning, the interior, and most items here and there that do not make it either go, steer or stop. I wouldn't hesitate todrive this car anywhere. It always starts and runs great, but it does have a little stumble off of idle at this time, as well as a slow idle, and would benefit from putting the gauges on the MFI linkage and doing a tune up. When I have it tuned up that way, it runs like an electric motor and idles perfectly, but I haven't had it done for 5k miles or so and 5 years. to be truthful, my MFI tune up guy moved to Florida. It pulls strong and runs perfectly once it is above idle right now. I have been toldit is a 2.7 build, based on a 1973 E engine. The car pulls strong, shifts perfectly, with no synchro issues, stops straight, is tight, does not smoke under acceleration or deceleration, does not use excessive oil, and feels very nimble, despite appearances. It weighs under 2200lbs. I had a KEP lightweight racing clutch and flywheel from Patrick Motorsports put on it last year, as well as Wevo engine and trans mounts, had some oil seals replaced on the engine, checked the tensioners and head studs, and had the trans resealed, to the tune of over $8K. Oh, and I had a billet shift couple put on it. It shifts like no 915 trans car I've ever had. Like I said, this is a reluctant sale, but I have two air cooled turbos and a SWB car, and this car and the SWB are going away.I don't have interior photos, but think "stripped, and ready for RS carpet set and door panels". I do have the full interior, the air conditioning, and all the other bits that I removed, and they will be available to the winner of this auction, at a reasonable price. The wheels are period 3 piece BBS RS with magnesium centers and forged barrels, 16x12, 15x8, and are very light. The barrels have been chromed, and should be dechromed. I painted the centers gold. They look decent. Some photos will show red centers, which I painted gold over.It has new R888R front tires, but needs rear tires immediately, as the cords have just started to show on the inside. I can tell you where to get inexpensive, sticky tires for this car, shipped to your door. The underside of the car is just like you would want it to be. No corrosion, straight. This car has never had any rust. This could be a "bitter chocolate?" Carrera again. Or, you could have Turbo Kraft in Mesa AZ build a 650WHP efi turbo engine for it. I have a similar engine in a lightweight turbo, and once you experience that, you get a little spoiled. I love this car. It does sometimes get irritating answering questions at gas stations, and making sure I'm not picking my nose while people are taking photos, but this car is a blast. It is a pure experience. MFI is like nothing else. I never did dyno it, but I would guess it has in excess of 200whp. However, I do not make any claims. It is a joy to drive, though. Valves are adjusted. New Kendall 20/50. Ready to go. Thanks.

This car was originally a brown carrera. I mistook the mileage. My memory was incorrect. I own too many cars! The actual mileage is shown in the photos. It does not reflect the mileage of the drive train. The side body fairings are removed but go with the car. I was going to have the car finished in Martini livery. I'll sell the whole interior and air conditioning and the passenger seat- everything I removed, all in good condition, to the winner for $1500. This is a very nice, straight car, in every respect. It has a stock muffler that is modified to operate with cookie cutter type exhaust. It sounds great. Not too loud, not too quiet. I'm sorry about the lack of good photos. This car is in storage and I did not plan to sell it- I suddenly found a house in the country in an amazing location near my city, and am closing next month, thus this sale. You will love this car, as I have.Thanks.
