This iconic 1956 Speedster (Serial # 82117), with matching engine and transaxle numbers, was meticulously restored 25 years ago. The paint is catalyzed Black Deltron 2-part epoxy paint with clear coat, block-sanded and polished to the excellent finish presented today. The interior is perfectly matched to the original red. The collision and rust-free panels were hammered and filed with lead-filler to attain the door and deck gaps that Porsche body-works won national acclaim for in the mid 1950's. The panels are all original, as are the majority of trim pieces.
Having won numerous first place finishes in twelve premier car shows, along with three People's Choice and two Judge's Choice awards, this Speedster has been a perennial winner. On the national level, the car has won, six 1st place finishes at the 356 West Coast Holidays; and the prestigious 2007 Porsche Club of America 'Parade" coveted 'First in Class' Award, and 2009 'Weissach Award' for excellence in coachwork. This car has proven time and again, for the last 25 years, to be one of the finest in international competition.
