1990 Porsche 944 Cabriolet Description:

I'm the second owner of this car and have had it for 22 years. Autocheck is handy but got this item incorrect. I bought the car in 1996. Porsche maintenance book has extensive oil change and service in the first 6 years listed. The car had 42K miles when I purchased it in 1996 (Autocheck has that correct). It has been a California car all of its life. Just not driving it enough anymore. New Bridgestone Potenza RE760 tires 1,200 miles ago. Timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, balance shaft tensioner, transaxle oil change all done 2,500 miles ago. Oil change 300 miles ago. New German canvas top in 2016. The new top has never spent the night out of the garage. June 25, 2018 California smog and clean California title in hand. CA Registration through April 2019. It has been a fantastic car and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive anywhere. In the years I have owned it, I have only used Chevron Premium gasoline and Mobil 1 oils in the engine and transaxle. Air blows ice cold, Duracool12a since R12 disappeared 15 years ago, not converted to R134. Brake pads and clutch are estimated at 75%-85%.
1. Top electric parts are all there and motors work. Switches got flakey and out of caution I disconnected and went manual on the top and haven't missed the electric, while it was "cool" it was slow speed open and close and required an engine stop and acc on the switch to operate. In manual you can just pop it open at a stop light if you want right from the driver seat.2. Wheels are the original silver paint not sanded in good condition under Plasti-Dip black and silver. Just wanted a different look. Been two years and it still looks good (to me). Plastidip claims it can just peel off and I think it will, I've only tried to peel it on a test wheel and it peeled fine.3. I have the convertible top "parade" cover, I didn't install it after the new top went on. I never used it much. I didn't put the snaps into the top for it, but the holes are in the framework and the snaps are with the parade cover if you wish to install them. I like the clean look without the snap pins on the rear quarters.4. I removed the body side molding strips as I like the cleaner lines of the sides without them. they are in the trunk and are installed with 3m molding tape if you wish to re install them.5. PORSCHE decal over rear bumper removed in repaint. I didn't like it but easy to replace and last I checked easy to acquire.6. Stereo is not factory, works and has aux in, nothing special.7. Factory tool kit and inflator not present, never had them. Aftermarketinflator with spare, jack and tow ring are present. Spare has never been mounted to my knowledge and looks brand new to me.8. Only one key and one key for wheel locks.9. I've done the timing and balance shaft and aux belts twice on this car, due to time not miles. Take off belts from the last change are in the trunk for inspection and as emergency spares.10. Car comes with a complete set of new radiator and heater hoses. All of the installed good but oem and I have collected the set and planned to replace them in 2019 when I do the next PM work, also have a new oil filter and air filter in the box for the next PM to go with the car.
Here are the maintenance records from 2000 on. I lost the oil change data from 1996 to 2000 in a move. Oil changes and maintenance from new sale to 1996 are all in the Porsche maintenance log in the glove box with dealer stamps etc. I purchased from a Bay Area Mercedes dealer the day after the PO traded it on an SL. Car was sold in NorCal new and once by MB dealer in NorCal to me in 1996.
