1986 Porsche 928 Description:

Here is a 1986.5 Porsche 928 automatic in meteor gray metallic exterior over burgundy interior. 86.5 means it has large Porsche made brembo brakes with ABS that was standard on the 1987 928 S4 and later. Any VINs above 1000 for 1986 had these. It also signifies the last year of the original body before other changes occurred in 1987. This included S4 front suspension pieces that had a slightly improved geometry. It has some records included a timing belt in 2011, AC work, brakes, etc. They indicate the car has been cared for and it shows. It has an x-pipe with no cats and an rmb (rear muffler bypass). It has been repainted the original color which is evident from a drop in the clear coat on the front bumper which isn't noticeable until you get on the ground and look up at it. It has a few other blemishes but presents very well. The wheels are Carrera III's, 8x18 fronts and 10x18's in the rear with brand new Sumitomos, less than 50 miles on them. The dash and pod are cracked. All else is nice inside the car. The seats are in really nice original shape, soft and not cracked, better than most. This is my 5th 928 over 13 years so I know the cars pretty well. This is a well priced example for the condition. In the short time I've owned it, I've added the wheels, centercaps, and tires, drained and replaced the rear differential with Mobile 1 synthetic, repaired the passenger side mirror and glass, installed new Clewett plug wires, replaced the radiator fan switch, installed new fosgate door speakers, repaired the odometer, and sorted out the fog lamp switch.
