1979 Pontiac Trans Am Description:

1979 Pontiac Trans Am, with original build sheet. (Several sites on web can help decode build sheet.) Runs and drives great, tight steering and suspension (WS6) including 4 wheel disc brakes.Odometer reads 5,042, but true mileage is unknown.

Very fast, powered bythe preferablePontiac V8 (notthe Olds V8), ported and polished heads, mild cam, 4 speed trans, 3.23 posi factory gears, aftermarket headers, no cats. Has never overheated. Engine done before I became owner,so no cam specs or dyno sheets.

Body original and has had one repaint. This is a bondo and filler free car, floors, trunk, etc, very solid. Drives and brakes straight. No known accidents and not aware of anything but superficial rust on underside of car. Garaged, not smoked in, driven about once per week. Keep in mind it is a 40 year old car and has somecosmetic imperfections.

Presentable as is but aquality paint job would take it to the next level.Just learned from a fellowenthusiast that original color was #15 Platinum (Silver), so if repainted that would probably be the color of choice.

New in last 6 weeks:

650 double pumper carb (Quick Fuel Brawler Carb).

Distributor cap and rotor.

Electric choke, high volume mechanical fuel pump and gas filter.

Custom ram air and carb tune by race mechanic.

Hydraulic valves just adjusted, secured with poly-locks. New valve cover gaskets.

Plugs, oil filter, and oil change.

New within last year:

TA stainless steel dual exhaust from Ames High Performance, and dual Flowmaster mufflers.

Brakes completely done and master cylinder replaced.

Radiator.

A/C upgraded to R134A with new hoses, etc.

New hinge installed on driver door.

Moroso aluminum valve covers.

Comes with some extras at no additionalcost: a new hood decal (current one is fraying at the edges),a Holley 780 w/ vacuum secondaries, and a new rebuild kit. Spare distributor cap, rotor,and other odds and ends.
