1965 Pontiac GTO Tri Power 4 speed PHS Documented

1965 Pontiac GTO Description:

1965 Pontiac GTO- 4speed, Tri Power car from the factory. This car has been in Arizona it whole life. The current owner knew of the car for many years prior to purchase.
The PHS documents will also go with the car along with thetitles from the original owner and owner number 2.This is not a restored car. The paint was re done in the 80's by the second owner. The interior is mostly original. This GTO has an unusual attribute being one of less then 10 that came from the factory with a grey headliner. In the 80's the owner looked to replace the grey headliner, and discovered he had an anomaly. After much research it was discovered to be true. The plant made a mistake and installed grey on a hand full of cars. We have a piece of the original headliner. The headliner in the car is NOS grey fabric. The motor and transmission are original to the car. If you are looking for a newly restored car this is not for you. I would liken this GTO's condition to what it would have been like in the mid 70's. Like a 10 year old car. The chassis, and floor pans are in perfect condition, but are not shiny and new. they are the originals showing the original over spray from the factory. I will go into detail on the condition of the car as well as how it runs and drives below. I encourage anyone with questions please feel free to message me. Body: The body on the car is straight with no signs of cracking or paint crazing. I do not see any evidence of panel replacement. The paint work is old, but aged very well. The door jams appear to be original, but the trunk was repainted. The bottom is clean and dry. There is no evidence of rust, nor does it look like it ever had rust. I do see that there are spots of filler in various areas, but they are small and not cracking.
Interior: Seats are original and carpet appears to have been replaced. Headliner as per previously stated has been replaced. Dash and console are original condition. It is to note that the mileage (81000) is original on the car, but we have no docs to prove it. The current owner has known the car most of its life so he knows the history well.
Motor and transmission: The original 389 is in the car. The original transmission is also in the car. Both work properly, but are not rebuilt, new items. The clutch is new as is the the throw out baring. I have the stamping number on the block in the gallery, but if you need additional numbers or pics please message me and we will take them. Inspections are always welcome.
Trunk: Excellent condition. As previously noted the paint was redone inside the trunk lid and potentially around the sides. The trunk pan is in great shape and is original to the car. the jack is in place with the handle.

Manual brakes, manual steering, and a manual 4 speed transmission. In other words don't be critical of my filming its a lot to do to drive and record the experience. This is a fun car. Acceleration is quick. The drum brakes do not pull, and the steering tracks straight. They only drive this way when they have not been taken apart. The car idles properly and pulls hard under acceleration.It has sat a lot in the last 25 years soa bit of tinkering with the carbs, and a little additional care and this could be an amazing driver.
