FACTORY DELIVERED TO :::: CONSTANTINE PONTIAC IN PITTSBURGH PA. FROM THE NORWOOD OHIO PLANT
IF YOU TAKE THE TIME AND LOOK AT THIS CAR I BELIEVE YOU WILL LIKE WHAT YOU SEE
SINCE ORIGINALLY LISTING THIS CAR There have been over 6000 views of this car as counted by ebay:I have tried to get across the true value of this car. A MOST LIKELY 1 of only 1 true original piece of
history. A factory manufactured original piece of history. A car where every 17 year olds
dream wanted to get a car like this and race it on a cool summer saturday or sunday
afternoon. This is exactly the car that was used to fuel a 17 year olds dream of racing
ona Sundayafternoon of July 23, 1978. This car was raced by a young man who never
raced beforeand was able to pull a 15.22 in the quarter mile and TROPHY with the help
of those wholived the racing 60's. This car is exactly the kind of cars that were available back in the
day. Little did weknow it was truly an end of an era. This car is a factory period modified
timepieceexactly the way they were doing it at the time. With the cragars, the fat
wheels, even thezoomie pipes pictured (long since replaced) it was all used back then.Sometimes it seems we cannot seethe forest through the trees.
The value of this car is not a chinesecarbon copy of an original
likethe ones being built today with chinese carbon copied parts.
The value of this car is in that original 1978 picture of the last time
fast cars wereactuallyfast...
The value is in putting this car to as raced and pictured.
Granted sometimes it is nice to see the way they came from thefactory.
But its time we see how the cars really were 5 years down the road from
new, with all the freckles and the assembly line factory defects.. A true example of mass production.
It was back thenWE TOOK PRIDE IN EVERYTHINGAMERICA BUILT.
You see this is where the real values are in these type cars. Those are the
real memories we have of our childhood and youth. And the amount of ebay views
substantiate that...I say if you build it the way they really were they will come to see it...

1973 Pontiac Trans Am FIREBIRD FROM NORWOOD OHIO PLANTThe time slip was done by my 17 year old brother JOE on July 23, 1978.It was his first time ever at a 1/4 mile track. And while it was long ago i would like all the great people at the NUMIDIA TRACK know i appreciated the guys helping a first timer have a great time at the track...Thank You to all the great people that help our kids down a sometimes rough road of life...The gentleman there supplied great memories to this day for my brother....

There is a surprising amount of sound GM metal that will only need minor prepping in your restore efforts...1 of the 1420 real 4 speed AC equipped 1973 Pontiac Trans Am's producedNot a tribute car
Not a copyNot a duplicate. This car came from the General Motors Pontiac Factory Norwood Plant
(Orange Carpet Optioned 97F)
1973 TRANS AM ...Buccaneer RedWhite interior
Originally a 455 car. now a 400 bored .040the motor in it now is a pontiac WY 4 speed manual transmission blockwith heavy breathing big car 1968 #15 pontiac headsthis engine when parked had only 8000 miles on iti have not started this engine in many years but it does turn freethe carburetor that is on the car is frozen so it will need replacement

there is an extra original 1973 trans am 455 4 speed engine available that was built the same month and year my car was ORIGINALLY manufactured...an original engine to 1 of the other 1420 455 4 speed AC 1973 TRANS AMS that were built.i would say it will need rebuilding just to be safe these engines are like hens teet, ,,they can no longer be found in good rebuildable condition due to the fact only 1420 4 speed engines were originally producedthe engine is a complete FACTORY ORIGINAL pan to carburetor 1973 TRANS AM except for the intake...which is an edelbrock extra engine is ZZ code with june 1973 casting dates
THIS REPLACEMENT 1973 PONTIAC TRANS AM ZZ CODE ENGINE WAS VERY RARE ITSELF SINCETHEY WERE EVEN MORE LIMITED IN PRODUCTION THAN EVEN THE 455SD IN THE TRANS AM PRODUCTION LINETHE ZZ CODE IS EVEN SOMETIMES MISSED IN THE COLLECTORS LIST OF 73 TRANS AM MANUAL TRANSMISSIONENGINE CODE LISTINGSTHIS ZZ CODE ENGINE IS A VERY RARE ITEM BY ITSELF...AS FAR AS I KNOW THE ZZ CODE ENGINE WAS A END OF YEAR LATER PRODUCTION FOR THE 73 TRANS AMWITH THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GM HAD NOT EXPECTED TO PRODUCE AS MANY TRANS AMS AS THEY DIDWITH ONLY 1420 TOTAL 455 4 SPEED CARS ONLY MADE...
THESE NUMBERS ARE VERIFIABLE THROUGH PONTIAC HISTORICAL SERVICES 1973 TRANS AM MANUFACTURED LISTINGSALSO PHS DOES NOT BREAKDOWN 4 SPEED CARS WITH AIR CONDITIONINGWHICH WOULD MAKE THIS CUSTOM BUILT AIR CAR VERY RARE ITSELF
MOST 73 TA'S YOU SEE DO NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING
WHEN PHS FINALLY DOES A PROPER PRODUCTION COUNT THIS ORANGE CARPET TA COULD VERY WELL BE MORELIMITED IN PRODUCTION THAN EVEN WERE THOUGHT TO BE...
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A TRULY VERY RARE BIRD...

according to some vintage car estimators there are only 10 % of manufactured complete antique cars that only exist after 10 years...

THIS 1973 TRANS AM IS 43 YEARS OLD

A Genuine 2V87Y3N PHS Documented Car..Historically Documented Pontiac Car1973 Pontiac Red Trans Am was the feature car in the pontiac catalogsMost copiedMost lovedMost endearedMost heart pumping ability
Most adrenaline producingTrans Am in the worldAfter doing research i believe it to be the only 1973 Trans Am WITH Orange Carpet car in the world...Build Sheet picturedDocumented ORANGE CARPET Code 612 97F 1973 TRANS AM CAR...
my trans am****Has a 1970-71 endura nose on car now. It was for lighter weight racing but****A useable correct and complete 1973 firebird endura nose with grille inserts will go with the car at time of sale****urethane bumper has all nice ORIGINAL GM mounting donuts...,,, but bumper has minor tear from misplacement of bumper jack hook***rubber repair sealer is needed to glue minor tear***overall the 1973 bumper is a 8 out of 10****also there is a nice serviceable metal 1973 trans am lower valance panel that goes with car****Both front bumpers 1970-71 and 1973 will go with the car....if you want them both

This is mostly a GM period metal car that had work previously on both rear quarters ...both wheel lips had minor attention done to them, but if done correctly i think they can be savedright rear behind wheel, side marker light area, is most bondo and may need a small inner and outer panel if your looking for all metali would say 90% of this car is repairable metal
also the rear unibody dog legs need the usual firebird type attentionthis is a very common problem with these 2nd generation carsat one time body shops were afraid to repairbut with 45 years of unibody repair history in america it is now a very doable repairand any body shop worth there salt should have no problem repairingas far as i can tell it only needs a 1 to 1 1/2 foot section repaired / replacedyou will have no problem examining this area
also the trunk wells at the rear window appear to be completely intactand would only need minor attention in your restoration
the trunk floor section and passenger compartment floor appear very nice
front subframe appears to have no apparent problems
radiator support appears intact and should only need minor attention
hood needs replacement
front fenders are correct and appear all metal
original roof section can either repair dents or get panel replacementeither way i believe the same amount of time repairing will be expended

the paint on this car is gone and will require removal down to solid metalcar has 1 original factory coat and a 2nd replacement QUICK coat onlyINTERNAL DOOR AND TRUNK INSERTS ARE ONLY ORIGINAL COATED PAINTWITH NO 2ND COAT IN THOSE INNER AREAS
PAINT IS CHECKERING ON ROOF AND TRUNK UPPER PANELS (WILL NEED SAND BLASTING)BUT THIS PROBLEM ALSO SHOWS THE CAR IS ALL GM FACTORY PERIOD CORRECT METALTHE FENDERS ON THIS CAR ARE GM TRANS AM ORIGINALS FROM 1972THE FIT OF ALL THE PANELS ARE TYPICAL GM PERIOD CORRECT
THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET IMPORT PANELS ON THIS CAR
car has 1 original factory coat and a 2nd replacement QUICK coat
INSIDE FLOORS AND TRUNK ARE OF GOOD USEABLE QUALITY NEEDING ONLY MINIMAL ATTENTION
when i needed replacement parts i always tried to repair with genuine 2nd generation trans am parts...the car started out trans am and i tried to keep it trans am as much as possible
When purchasing this 1 only vehicle i wish to be fair and have a reasonable negotiation so that both the new owner and I the seller are both happy with what we have received...

These Special Carpet Optioned TA'S as far as i know were installed in very few cars with this option including this 73 Trans Am

A 1973 red trans am with black interior and red carpet was featured in Hot Rod magazine a number of years back...I have seen the article but i do not know year of publication...that 1973 TRANS AM was owned by a Pontiac Executive...
Also check your build sheets
Somewhere out there I believe has a red 1973 trans am with a white interior that has a bright blue carpet...
RED WHITE AND BLUE ..
What a find and lucky hound that person would be...

These cars were considered UNIQUE unusuals because of the odd color carpet options...BUT if they did not sell right away the dealers would change the interiors out to a more demanding option so it would not sit on the showroomfloor ..The TA I have had that very thing happen. They pulled the orange carpet and consoleAnd changed it to a black carpet no console option..So when your checking carsThe only way to be sure you have that special option is by build sheet or PONTIAC HISTORICAL SERVICES... ..Put your bid in for your chance to own what i believe to be the only clear titled Red 1973 Trans Am with the only orange carpet ever built ...
If you locate the 1973 trans am with the colors of red white and blue i would appreciate you letting me know the car has been found...
...Think about it ...what price could you put on the only red white and blue 1973 trans am EVER PRODUCEDThis red white and blue 1973 TA is out there...Somewhere out there this car has been overlooked...
