1963 Pontiac Le Mans Description:

I purchased this car about six years ago. It had been superbly stored, and driven little since 1994. It looks great from 20 feet and it gets tons of attention anytime it's out. Since I purchased the car it's received new piston rings, new rod and main bearings, NOS timing chain and gears, (correct 4 cyl. genuine rare GM NOS Tempest chain), new spring and one of the shoes on the timing chain brake, and of course all new gaskets, seals, fuel pump and water pump. Previous work on the car was not done well to say the least. I have also rebuilt or replaced all the wheel cylinders. All ball joints, upper control arm bushings, brand new idler arm and four new radial tires. The engine runs very well. It's all matching numbers except the carburetor which is a 62 straight drive 4 barrel, very close to the correct one, but isn't the original carb. The top is aging but keeps you dry. Seats need recovered and power top pump needs reinstalled. One of this cars strongest points is the floors. I see no more than surface rust on them and no soft spots that I am aware of. There is one or two very small spots where panels lap in the trunk.Car cruises at interstate speeds smoothly with no issues and is unusually tight for an old convertible and drives well. The damn exhaust system has been made up and I've not been successful at totally keeping it from rattling some at idle. There is one spot on the passenger side rocker that has some minor bubbling. I tried to get a photo, but it's hard to see. I purchased several hundred dollars in new weather strips. They are installed on the doors. The window strips that I could install without major disassembly are installed, and the same for the convertible top. The rest will be included with the car. There is a small BB type crack in the windshield that I was sure would spread quickly when I purchased the car. I bought a good replacement with the top tint area and it's never spread, but the good one will be included with the car. I've only put a couple of thousand miles on it while I've owned it, but I know of no reason it can't be driven anywhere. I've made a few day trips of a 100 miles or so and it's never let me down in anyway. Also has a recent battery. The body and paint work certainly leave a lot to be desired, but it's shiny and hasn't changed since I've owned it and so no signs of any major rust that's ever been repaired. The main dash is still dark blue. Carpet has been replaced at some point with black and it's in very good condition. The underdash aftermarket stereo will be removed before leaving and won't be included with the sale. Remember, this is a 1963 auto and is a very drivable project as I see it, but make no mistake, it IS a project if you want a super nice car, it's a great start! It needs cosmetics mostly. I've really enjoyed this car, but I am aging and just have too many to try to keep up with. They love it at the local cruise ins where it's been a regular attendee for the last several years.lease ask any questions before bidding. You're bidding to buy it, not to come look at it and then decide. $500 Paypal required within 24 hours of auction end. NON refundable, so be sure you want it. Balance in cash only at time of pick up. Must be picked up within two weeks of auction end. I have much more than the buy it now invested and hours and hours of labor. If at all possible I'd recommend inspecting the car prior to bidding. I will make the vehicle available to load for a shipper, but all shipping arrangements are strictly the responsibility of the buyer!
