Up for sale is my beloved garage-kept 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I bought this in 2001 and have been taking care, enjoying, and upgrading ever since. I barely get to drive this car anymore, and she is a major head-turner that deserves to be enjoyed!

CLEAR TITLE! Major receipts from 2001 - present. Engine/trans/suspension etc.

Engine/Transmission:

Numbers-matching, rebuilt and worked, original Oldsmobile 403 6.6L V8. Engine pulled and sent to my hot rod shop's machinist, and then rebuilt by my hot rod shop. In addition to this a flat tappet cam was added (runs on Brad Penn 20w/50 race oil), metal timing chain, long tube headers (and head bolts) and a race, high-torque mini starter. This was done in 2011 and I have driven this car under 500 miles since. Probably closer to about 300 miles.

Full receipt details of engine block work: Engine rebuild, larger cam, hone, bore, deck, engine cleaned in hot tank, rings, bearings, balance, timing chain, pushrods, reassemble motor, etc., full engine gasket kit - pistons... over $5k in receipts just on this.

Long tube headers to Flowmaster exhaust. Nice beefy idle that doesn't sound too super erratic. Runs great on premium pump gas.

Has the original, and once rebuilt, Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor. Shaker was opened up and vented for increased air flow and performance.

Original and serviced 3 speed automatic transmission, B&M Ratchet shifter and shift kit installed. Very solid and fun to drive!

4 Wheel Disc Brakes. Honestly not sure if it's the WS6 version or just disc brakes added package. I still have some new 4 wheel disc stickers for the door handles that I never installed.

Exterior/Interior:

I had this car professionally prepped, painted, and decals back in 2002/2003 and it still looks great! OEM Midnight blue with extra metallic flake added.

Factory A/C and power windows! A/C might need a charge. I replaced the window motors about 10 years ago, and they work well. I also replaced the headliner and it looks great. Trunk and door weather stripping, and window stripping was replaced back then, and some extra included. I also replaced master cylinder/brake booster/brake lines back in 2003 as well.

The original 15x7 snowflakes are on the car, and were refinished and powder-coated back in 2003. Center caps aren't perfect, and one wheel has some staining that may or may not fully clean up.

The original gauge cluster was swapped out by the previous owner for an earlier 70s Trans Am gauge cluster (and he gave me the original, which I will also include. Looks perfect with currently installed cluster).

The car never had the original radio when I bought it, so for around $1500 in parts and labor, I had a sound system installed. Pioneer cd player, and I believe you can buy a cable that connects to the back to allow auxiliary. My buddies had the same head units, and used to do this all the time. Alpine 3-4" speakers in the front dash, JBL6x9s in the back, and a Cerwin Vega Dual Voice coil 12" sub and box in the trunk. This thing hits nicely and sounds great. 2 amps mounted in the trunk (out of the way against back seat) to power sub and speakers.

When I did this I installed a new rear deck shelf, so all the speakers are hidden.

Sound system company also installed an alarm, by Code Alarm.

Crack in the dashpad, as with every Trans Am ever. Carpet is original, and I am including a new carpet that I never installed. Also included are 2 sets of floor mats: really nice ones with Trans Am emblems that match new carpet, and also the mats that came with the car when I bought it (not sure if original or not).

I bought houndstooth trunk lining that is included, including matching pouch, tire cover. All from Classic Industries and NPD. Original (or original style) spare tire included!

Will also include some miscellaneous parts that I replaced or have yet to add (original hood emblem, original gauge cluster, a couple new center caps, 4 wheel disc decals for door handles, etc).

Things to note:

Cold starts take some of the usual carburetor gas pedal pumping. After this, engine starts are effortless.Car runs super strong and solid!

My hotrod shop swapped out the temp. gauge with a period correct, OEM gauge, but temp. gauge and interior blinker indicators not currently working. Blinkers are still functional. Alpine front speakers are not connected.Small tear in rubber on driver's side window stripping.

Flaws in finish photographed and include: back bumper spot, small spot on shaker/hood, drivers side door, the standard front spoiler/lip since the car is so low. Paint is not perfect, but looks great!Photos and videos taken on a partly cloudy day a few days after waxing car. Last photo taken on sunny day immediately after being washed, before being waxed.

I have already replaced and upgraded several major projects.I have put around $30,000 into this car over the years.I have been very thorough and detailed with everything that I could think of. I don't like there to be any surprises. I will also include major receipts that I still have.

Please examine photos and videos and ask any questions before bidding. This Trans Am is being sold AS IS with no returns. Deposit required within 24 hours, and full payment within 3 days via cashier's check. Car runs and drives, but should be transported/flat-beddedand have standard maintenanceperformed before heavy driving (oil change, etc).

This car is amazing. Such a fine example of a 1979 Trans Am, and they are only going to continue to appreciate in value.I will miss it. It's a great driver, and needs a new owner that will love it as much as I have all these years.
