1980 Pontiac Trans Am 10,300 miles

10,300 MILEAGE
V8 ENGINE

1980 Pontiac Trans Am Description:

Original UNRESTORED 1980 TA. I am the second owner. Original 10,300 miles from new. Still has the original tires. This car was recently serviced including flush and fill all fluids, replaced brakes with DOT5, 1 wheel cylinder needed replaced, filters replaced and all 4 shocks. You will be very hard pressed to find another 80 TA in this condition unless it has basically zero miles never driven or FULLY restored. The only paint issues on this car is of course the front nose. There are nicks and stone chips in this area as while it was pampered, it was driven the first 35 years sparingly on an actual road. I have put about 20 miles on it since Ive owned it. Nothing under the hood has been changed except the battery. Original hoses, clamps, etc. Nothing under the car has been changed except the shocks. They were leaking and a safety issue. Original exhaust tips are still there and while not NOS perfect, they are very nice. Excellent glass. The interior is Camel vinyl in excellent condition, not just better than average. I mean excellent except for the headliner behind the passenger to mid t top area. Zero holes or tears in it but it has started to delaminate and I will not attempt to try to put it back up as my trim guy says it is not possible. Seats have ZERO wear, carpet has ZERO wear, dash has ZERO cracks, door panels have ZERO problems. Original front and rear floor mats. Everything works properly including start up, shifting, cruise control, windows, locks, seats, clock, interior and exterior lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, tach, speedo and gauges. The AC works but the freon has finally depleted enough to not blow cold. Radio AM/FM cassette stereo lights up and crackles in speaker but does not work properly.T top bags and original spare are in the trunk as well as the inflating canister. Original mud flaps and window sticker. Perfect honeycomb rims with ZERO curb rash. Perfect tail lights, ZERO cracks or broken edges. Both doors close perfect, ZERO sag or issues. Babied from new TA. Call if you need more info for some reason six one 8 five five 4 four three six 2. Inspections welcome. On Jun-01-18 at 03:39:56 PDT, seller added the following information:

For those who have asked but ebay cant seem to attach the answer. As in the ad, the AC compressor activates but the air is not cold and all the other settings work fine. Kind of hard to tell if the heat is on as its 95 degrees currently but the vents blow hot air. The motor is the 4.9 301. How I know the miles are actual is I bought it from the original owner that had his documentation and is a patient of mine. There is no pedal wear or interior wear at all. As you must know on these cars, there would be issues with the doors as they are heavy and sag from use. This car has none of that. Now you can be cynical and say it could have been fixed. That's why I encourage you to send a specialist to inspect the car and he or she can verify what I have stated the car as. Clearly it's not possible to magically keep the doors aligned on a 100K plus mile car let alone 200K, have ZERO wear on an interior sat on including the driver seat as that's the one seat that would have to be used, still show plenty of tread on original tires and have all the original fittings not repaired or updated due to wear that would certainly happen on a car that was driven regularly as that's what happens to vehicles driven no matter how well they are taken care of.

Easiest is for you to send someone here to inspect as no matter what I tell you, you will not be convinced. There are many reputable services that do this if you are not able to yourself. And again, the AC kicks on but is not COLD. That probably qualifies as not working in your book but all settings work and hot air comes through the vents so no, the heat is not an issue. The plenums open at each position as you select from the dash. Are there puddles underneath the car? No. But the down side to a car that has sat in a garage as much as this one has, the seals can and do weep very little. Thats why the shocks needed replaced, they showed signs of leaking fluid. But a guy could find nos shocks if that was absolutely needed for some reason. To not have a perfectly sealing car from any and all points of origin, I feel its not worth disassembly but you might. It sounds like you are really looking for a fully restored car. In that case, this car is not for you.

so the heat and air conditioner do not work then? and are there any fluid leaks? The bumper and front spoiler look like they have at least 100k miles on them easily

I have been asked by a couple guys if the smog equipment is intact. Yes, again, nothing has been removed from under the hood. The smog pump is visible in the engine photos in front of the shaker. Also, car was built in Van Nyes, CA as per the window sticker.

Ive been asked by several now to try and work something out before the BIN ends. If someone is serious about the car, take the information that is in the ad, contact me after the listing ends and maybe it can be worked out. This car will not be relisted after this for who knows how long if even here and will go back into my collection. I cant state apparently enough that while this isnt a 6 figure car, it aint chump change either. Come look at the car or send someone for a couple hundred bucks. There are trained folks out there that can give a serious breakdown of the car for a serious collector to give you piece of mind. Im in no rush. The car will stay with me and you can set up a time months from now if you happen to be close on business or just traveling and remember that you wanted to check out the car. Its not a returnable, i forgot to tell the wife, my tax refund didnt show type of thing. Keep my user name or phone me if it does not sell. It is included in the ad and has not been changed since forever. Check out my other cars in the collection at droldsmobilemuseum.com for a reference to what and how I maintain my vehicles. Cheers
