1978 Pontiac Firebird. 135k documented original miles. I purchased the car from the original owner. Dry California car. Over $16,500 in receipts for work done to the car ( 50 + pages) are included with the sale of the car. Brand new 300 horsepower 350 Chevy crate motor installed by the dealership. The motor has less than 12k miles on it. This car was fully restored in the 90's and driven less than 10,000 miles since its mechanical and cosmetic restoration. Power steering, brakes, and trunk. Automatic transmission, tilt steering, and A/C. Runs and drives like a new car.
Motor/Transmission- 12k miles on dealer installed Chevy 350 four bolt main motor (cost $3,500). Rebuilt automatic transmission, Hurst dual gate shifter, new Edelbrock four barrel carburetor. Dual exhaust. New radiator, fuel sender, all new hoses, fuel and vac lines. The motor runs perfect, the transmission shifts crisp and precise.
Interior- Fully restored interior. The interior was completely redone by a professional upholstery shop (headliner, dash, seats, door panels, carpet, ect.). Every thing works, all electrical is in excellent working condition. Factory oil pressure, temp, volt gauge.
Paint/Body. This car received a full window out paint job. All windows and trim were removed prior to paint. The car was repainted metallic midnight blue. The paint shows very well with only minor chips and imperfections. All glass is perfect. New door/window seals, door locks, door felts and chrome trim were installed after the repaint. California car most of its life. Rust free under carriage, floors, trunk, rockers, ect. The factory Honey Comb wheels were restored. The car has always been garaged.
Other- Brand new Toyo Proxes tires (over $600) and alignment. New heater core and heater blower motor.The complete brake system was rebuilt including drums, rotors, front calipers, rear wheel cylinders, brake lines, master cylinder, shoes, and pads. New shocks front and rear. Original manual. The car rides like a Cadillac. The steering is tight, brakes are excellent.
This Firebird overall is in exceptional condition. Over $16,000 spent within the last 13,000 miles. Perfect daily driver/weekend cruiser at local car shows. This car runs and drives like new and is very reliable. The car needs nothing. This is a lot of car for the money and a inexpensive way to get into the classic car/muscle car hobby. Regretfully selling as the car rarely gets driven.
